If you have a tool with carbon brushes open the back and look to the carbon brushes if they are worn replace both armature AND brushes together 3 benefits 1. It runs smooth again 2. more power happy batteries 3. more power longer lasting for the power assembly+switch
If you have a brushless tool there is 1 option open and clean the the switch inside is the only option to do or replace the switch stator unit depends on witch model.

I have a Milwaukee cordless drill/ driver cat#2801-20 will not work but the flash light will work

The battery is not fully Charged. Please charge for 4 to 5 hours.
The flash light works because it requires lower voltage than drill/driver to work.

Milwaukee impact driver 2653-20. Why doesn't it run, even with fully charged battery?

I think this would be a new trade-in machine because of the brushless motor and the marketing technical change of the brand Milwaukee repair is in most cases if it has to do by this brushless tools not interesting anymore to repair or let it repair by milwaukee service only if there is garantee ,but for the end user only there are great new trade-in options and the garantee time should also be transparant and great.
Milwaukee will have repairs in ther own garantee and is not interesting in the between trade when its coming for repairs by others that likes it will ending by competition in service by garantee
as between the big brands mutually.

Hi mine show fully charged drilled 1 6mm hole and went flat yet sometimes is ok

Try fully discharging the battery first and let it sit for a few days. Then fully recharge before use. What happens with battery operated drills is the batteries develop what is called memory of the charge level when they are recharged and will not charge past that point but the charge light will show full charge. It happens when the drill is used for a period of time and then the battery is placed in the charger ready for next time instead of using the drill until it is flat or leaving a partially used drill on the bench and not recharging it until it is flat

I have the m18 impact driver and i doesnt seem to be spinning as quickly and doesnt have the same power as when i bought it. it still works but not even close to the same.

The only reason a battery powered device slows down is that it's not getting the appropriate voltage from the battery. Your m18 has a lithium-ion battery that when topped off, and for what should be a good long work-period, deliver 18vdc to the motor. Unfortunately, some of the earlier m18 batteries have had some issues and are not fully charging. Some of this is due to improper charging, over heating, storage problems and physical damage.

Milwaukee utilizes a "smart battery" Digital Management System to monitor the "draw" on the battery to keep the user from frying the motor or overtaxing the battery. How hard to you use the tools...perhaps you should trade the stock compact versions for the XC (extra capacity) versions.

You don't say how long you've had these tools, but if you'll go back to the retailer you bought them from, you may be able to get replacement batteries there. Otherwise, check out the Milwaukee website. I think they came out with M18 XC "RED LITHIUM". I think this might be a replacement.

Nonetheless, Milwaukee offers a 2 year warranty on their batteries, so contact your retailer or Milwaukee directly.

Why my 28v doesn't fully charge. when charging indicator light is red. there is 4 charge indicator. when it reach 2 green light comes on showing fully charged. you would use it for about 20 minutes and...

One or more cells of the battery have gone bad. The technique of measuring the state of charge of the battery is VERY limited.

I would recommend letting the battery cool after charging... THEN in a day, charge it again without using it. Do this for several days and see if the battery improves. If not, time for new battery.

DO NOT discharge these batteries beyond the point where the tool starts to slow down. You will reverse charge the weakest cell from the ones still deliveing power and the reverse charge will permanently damage the weakest cell.

Milwaukee 18v battery

No, it's showing that the battery is either not taking a full charge or the charger is not charging the battery properly. Find a Milwaukee service center, they will check them and most likely replace one or the other.

Won't charge fully

If your warranty has expired, you're best off buying a new drill. Replacing batteries will quickly add up to the cost of a new drill.

I know they cost a lot more, but, if you want something that will last a lot longer, look at a Milwaukee, DeWalt, Makita, Bosch, Hitachi for your replacement. Milwaukee actually guarantees their LiIon batteries will last 1,000 charges or longer.
