Cold water not pulling into Fisher & Paykel 5.5kg Smart Drive Pride.

When I start the Fisher & Paykel 5.5kg Smart Drive Pride the cold water doesn't pull into the machine any more. It sounds like it's trying but keeps stopping after short bursts. The hot water pulls in no problem. After a few tries the machine stops and errors. The cold water tap has been checked by a plumber and is fine. The machine was working but I have moved home.

Either the cold water inlet solenoid has failed or there is a fault with the electronic control module, Unfortunately the only way to find out is to replace the cold water solenoid and see if it works, if it doesn't then the electronic control board is faulty.

SOURCE: When filling my F&Paykel washer

You most likely have a smart water temp sensor on your machine. It makes sure you have the proper water temp to dissolve your detergent. Even when set to cold, it will add some hot water. It sounds like your machine is working properly. If you feel you are haveing a problem check the water temperatures in your owners manual and then check them with a thermomater in the washer. If they are not correct you may have a bad temperature sensor. Good Luck and I hope this helped. [email protected]

i am pretty sure its the main board, the easiest way to solve the problem is replace a the main board with a secondhand board, as well as obtaining a bag of spare parts, out a good working machine with faulty seals. You may have faulty seals if the machine is dormant for 3 years. I advise people never use washing powder in their washing machines, just use liquid detergent like Cold Power. the washing powder cakes up in the machine and when harden can be very abrasive and destroy the seals.

Intermittent water flow interupted by solenoids pulsing

I've got the same problem. If I pause the cycle, wait about 10 seconds, and then resume, the water starts normally. I suspect the Cold Water Inlet Solenoid is sticking, probably due to water sediment in the solenoid causing it to stick. I'll try cleaning it and then replace if that doesn't help and let you know what happens.

I had the same problem.

You probably only have cold water connected and you need to "program" it for cold water only.

By default it expects both cold and hot water connected and even though you can select "cold" it will still error if not hot water supply is present.

Call Fisher & Paykel customer care and they will tell you how to re-code it for cold only.
