Use of AV2 input sound socketsto play ipod

I have an LG RZ-17LZ21 and for convenience want to use it at times as a speaker for my ipod in this particular room.
I connected ipod sound outputs to AV2 but get no sound, when AV2 is set as input.
However if I use same lead to connect sound output from my camcorder (at same time as S video from camcorder is connected) then I do get sound through TV, using S video input instead of AV2. If I then change sound source from camcorder to ipod, while S video still playing then I get ipod music OK, along with pictures from camcorder.
Why won't it play ipod sound without S video input also being active?
Thanks in advance
Terry Davies

The sound is muted unless a video signal is detected on this TV. The only work around would be to connect the camcorder or some other active video to tha input but using the IPOD for the audio.

How can i get my ipod player to play in my sony TA-AX301 AMPLIFIER-No sound

On the iPod, (or the Doc) is a 3,5 mm socket, where the earphone or speakers go in. On your Amplifier, are two gulp entrys, called line input. Just use (perhaps you still have to buy one) a cable from 3,5 mm Stereo, to 2 tulip plugs to connect both. Then when playing, test the volume you should put the iPod top, so your amp can handle he signal and the sound through the speakers sounds good. Then use the volume knob on the amp to fine adjust.
The amp was build in a time there were no iPods, so don't expect an USB entry o that one.
Cable you need:

I have a Sansui RZ-7001 home theater system but cannot get surround sound when connecting my LG Blu-ray BD 550 to it. What am I doing wrong?

fred i dutoi,

Check your connections first. Make sure your input on the Sansui RZ-7001 menu is selected to dvd. Also, make sure the blue ray cables are also inserted in the correct inputs on the rear of the receiver(dvd input). via. rca cables(red, white & yellow) the yellow is the video, hdmi, or optical. If you do not hear sounds coming from your speakers you need to check the separate volume levels for the speakers within the receiver itself. Front and rears having different volume levels within the receiver. Hope this helps. Also make sure you check the volume on the dvd player. Thanks for visiting FixYa.com. Have a great day !

My ilive speakers IT188b won't play any sound. I'd like to resolder the main audio board, but where is it?!? I got to the insides and pretty much pressed all the connections and they seem in place....

You just want to jump in start soldering without knowing what the cause is???

Do you even KNOW the speaker is the reason? Sources and cables can be the reason.

As always, you should refer to the manual FIRST before coming here. That is where WE will usually start.

For example, there is no troubleshooting section but there is a website mentioned on the last page: www.ilive.net

...which leads to SUPPORT (and contact information, should this not help) which leads to

http://www.ilive.net/store/p/43-2-1-Channel-Bar-Speaker-with-Dock-for-iPod-.aspx

which leads to downloadable manuals

http://www.ilive.net/owners_manual/IT188B-IB.pdf

an instructional insert for changing the clock between 12/24 hr time and FAQs, which discuss your symptom.

"Why can I not hear any audio from my iLive docking system?

When an auxiliary line-in cord is inserted into the LINE-IN jack (on the right side of your IT188B) you will not be able to hear what is connected to IN2 (on the back of your IT188B). Both of these input share the same input function of AV2. To play audio from either of these inputs, press the FUNCTION button until AV2 appears on your LCD screen. If both inputs have connections with audio players, the LINE-IN jack will have precedence over the IN2 jack. Make sure to detach the cable connected to LINE-IN before connecting a device to IN2. You will need an auxiliary line-in cable (3.5 mm mini to stereo RCA cable) to connect an iPod shuffle to this system. Also, there is a Volume Limit option in the Settings menu of your iPod. Make sure that this maximum volume is set to a range that will be audible. Be careful when adjusting your volume level. Higher decibel levels at close range may put you at risk for hearing damage."

Pioneer x910bt. no sound with iphone/ipod

if you are using the av ipod cable that plugs into the usb and the red, white, yellow rcas, you will have change a setting in the audio section for the audio to work, if you go into the AV settings, the first option with say AV1 input, press it until it changes to IPOD. you should then have audio, if that doesn't work, the the rcas are improperly connected to the radio. hope this helps

No sound from subs and rear speakers...

Make sure the Ipod is plugged into the AV input source. Then you may have to go through the menu to select AV1 or AV2 input. This should take care of the problem. Good luck
