SOURCE: washer won't drain Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer
I recently had the same problem.. There is usually a panel on the lower front of the washer. I flipped open the panel door and removed the screw out plug. Make sure you have a floor drain at this point, as the water will come out when the plug is removed. This plug also contains a filter. It was plugged up with all sorts of debris... Lint, dryer sheets, rubber bands, a stick ect ect. I just cleaned the filter and plugged it back in. The washer worked normally after this. This is a simple thing to try before removing the back panel and drain hose to check for obstructions. The solution by jsrock516 would be the next logical solution. After that I would think that a faulty drain pump would be the problem

Sud= The unit has sensed there is too many suds in the unit it will
flush and pump out for 5 min and restart on its own..This is caused by

From the book :

If too much detergent was used:
—Run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle.
—Run a Normal cycle without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.

SOURCE: Rotting Smell from Whirlpool Duet Front Loading Washer
Take the panel off of the front of your washer below the door and in the middle there is a round removable plastic door like piece. Take it out and clean out all of the junk in behind it. You might find loose change, nails and a variety of other thnigs that have become stuck in there besides mold. This will help with the smell and also the water that sometimes remains in your washer after the cycle is over. You need to do this once/twice year.
