If like my old vans, there is a tab at base, you have to push in while pull up. I seen crack, thought was tearing up, an found the tab by accident. Also.. Some you have to insert a small pointy tool, down the headrest pole, into bottom to hit trigger to release. While pull up same time. Dull end, so do not hurt self,or cut seat. MAy need extra hands. Good luck.

SOURCE: How do I remove the dashboard from my 2000 Chevy Astro Van?
Paul is right you can go to radio shack or autozone schucks or any parts store and ask for the removal tool it cost $20.00 tops. Trust me you don't want to undo the dash as the air bag could detonate if you shorted the two wires that can control it and it could kill you.

You have to remove the interior dog box and the distributor and coil assemblies are in the back of the engine behind the upper plenum.

What you have to do is check and see if you have fuel pressure. You have to remove the engine cover to check it.If you don`t have a pressure tester then remove the air cleaner hose to the engine and spray it with carb.cleaner or brake cleaner. If it starts for a few seconds then it is more than likely a fuel pump.If it does not start then you have to check for spark at the spark plugs.Make sure you check more than one plug.If no spark then you have to check the distributor cap and rotor.Make sure the rotor is good and cap also.Things that can cause no spark are the ignition module, coil, and cap and rotor.Hope this helps.Good luck.
