SOURCE: HDTV connection on TV is not HDMI

The port is called a DVI input. You can find a HDMI to DVI adapter at Circuit City, Best Buy, Ultimate etc..........

SOURCE: No sound through HDMI port on rear of tv

You could replace the HDMI port on the TV, it's no different than changing a USB port card in your computer. But, finding the replacement HDMI port card for your TV can be tough. Try shopjimmy.com for parts.

SOURCE: HDMI port not working.

If your getting it to work on the regular RCA Jacks then it is your dvr box problem. I would contact your cable provider.

Your television hdmi ports are no longer working. You could try to solder new ports onto the board, or you could take it to a specialist in television repair.

Mitsubishi LT-46164 Blue Scree for all inputs. Can this be resolved with Firmware update? If so, how do I install with a flashdrive less than 4g?

Mitsubishi LT46164 has a known issue developing on the main board that causes what you describe (and other things):

http://www.coppelltvrepair.com/p/1635/repair-service-for-mitsubishi-main-board-934c374002-causing-dead-tv-blinking-loop-no-hdmi-no-audio-etc-problems

A firmware update is not likely to resolve the problem - you are just missing HDMI input functionality.

But it won't hurt to get the latest firmware if you can.

Check and replace all the electrolytic capacitors at the power secondary side [DC] side. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Can someone please help me get my laptop working through HDMI cable onto TV on a sony VAIO VGN-FW23G. I need to know the process to do this

1. Check the computer for changing output (some computers use <F5>, <F8>, depending on which brand they are. I believe Sony uses <Function><F7> or <F7>).
2. Check what channel the HDMI port is on (e.g. AV1, HDMI1, HDMI2, etc.) - you need to know this if your TV doesn't automatically switch to the new input.
3. Plug the HDMI cable into the TV HDMI cable-in port.
4. Plug the HDMI cable into the laptop HDMI cable-out port.

5. Turn on the computer.
6. Press the <Function><F7> simultaneously ONCE. The screen should flicker and show up on TV.
7. Sometimes you may have to go to "Display Preferences" and select Dual Monitors or external monitor if your computer doesn't do it automatically. Repeat Step 6 after.

** You may have to adjust Display Resolution to 1024 x 768 or lower in order for the TV to work. After it works at a lower display (800 x 600, for example), you can adjust the resolution to the maximum the TV can accept.
