SOURCE: Lights keep cycling madly, can't change the

I feel you have a Control Board issue.

I have seen this problem here and on other forums with our FAV6800A machine.

I would swap out the Control Board and see if that would take care of the issue.

If you were near 19344 area I would offer a up a Control Board to try. I have three working spares.

I'm an owner like you, I buy these used and repair the FAV6800A for resale. Ebay is a good source for parts. All three Control Boards came form ebay for penies on the dollar and work....been lucky to date.

What is hd code????

Hi Peter, If I understand your question correctly, you are asking what the code "HD" means for your machine. I am unable to find the code "HD", however, here is a list of the codes for these Maytag models, perhaps one looks similar to "HD". Hopefully this answers your question!

Washer displaying code messages
- "LF" (Washer is taking too long to fill)
Check the following:
Are the water inlet hoses kinked or clogged?
Are the water inlet valve screens clear?
Press PAUSE/CANCEL to clear display.
- "Ld" (Washer is taking too long to drain water from the wash tub)
Check the following:
Is the drain hose kinked or clogged?
Is the drain hose installed properly? See "Connect the Drain Hose." Press PAUSE/CANCEL
to clear display.
- "uL" (Unbalanced Load)
If the load is unbalanced, the washer will display this code while running an imbalanced
load correction routine at the end of the wash cycle and before the final spin. If the code
remains and the wash cycle dial is flashing after the recovery routine has stopped, open
lid and redistribute the load. Close lid and press START.
- "oL" (Over Load)
Is the washer overloaded? The washer has attempted to fill and begin the wash cycle. If
the washer is overloaded, it will drain any water and detergent that was added during the
fill. To correct the overload, remove several items and add detergent. Close lid and press
START.
- "Sd" (Suds Detected)
Did you use regular detergent?
Regular or hand-washing detergents are not recommended for this washer. Use only High
Efficiency ("HE") detergent.
Did you add too much detergent?
Always measure detergent. Follow detergent manufacturer's directions.
If excessive suds are detected, the washer will display this code while running a suds
reduction correction routine at the end of the wash cycle. The suds reduction routine
removes extra suds and assures proper rinsing of your garments. If the code remains and
the wash cycle dial is flashing after the recovery routine has stopped, re-select your
desired cycle using cold water. Press START. Do not add detergent.
- "lid" (Lid Opened)
Is the lid open? Close the lid to clear the display. If the lid remains open for more than 10
minutes, water in the wash tub will drain.
- "HC" (Cold and Hot hoses switched)
This code will appear at the end of the wash cycle to indicate that the cold and hot water
inlet hoses are switched. See "Connect the Inlet Hoses."
- "dL" (Door/Lid cannot lock)
Indicates lid is not locked. Check for items caught in the lid keeping it from closing. Press
PAUSE/CANCEL once to clear the code.
- "dU" (Door/Lid cannot unlock)
Is there excessive weight on the lid, such as a basket of laundry? Excessive weight will
keep the lid from unlocking. Press PAUSE/CANCEL once to clear the code.
- "F##" code
Press PAUSE/CANCEL once to clear code. Press START. If code appears again, call for
service.

Fault code f26

This error code indicates that the door needs to be opened and closed.

The F26 code may appear the first time you try to use the washer. Open and close the door to clear the display.

The F26 code may also appear if the washer has run three cycles without the door being opened. Open and close the door to clear the display.

If opening and closing the door does not remove the error display, press Pause/Off or Pause/Cancel twice.

If Pause/Off or Pause/Cancel does not work:

  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.
  2. Plug in the washer or reconnect the power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.

Calypso has unbalanced "L5" message

LS is a "Lid Switch Error"

The control should flash this error code if it cannot detect the lid switch opening and closing properly. This error code may also be used if there is a disagreement between the motor and machine controllers on the stat if the lid switch. The control should not allow the unit to run in this condition.
This code will also appear if the user presses the START key while the lid is open.
Open the lid or press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display. If opening the lid or pressing STOP/CANCEL does not clear it, unplug your washer for 5 minutes.
Here is a link to a PDF manual for it also.

Active vent keeps opening and closing though fan is off.

When the unit begins the never ending opening and closing cycle, turn the vent fan on for a few seconds and then turn the fan off. This seems to stop the active vent from opening and closing. If this is GE quality, this is the last thing that I am going to purchase. GE refrigerators are garbage and now I am having problems with a new microwave oven.

The Rinsing aid door keeps opening in my Bosch dishwaser

I believe paddy55 is correct about the rack position affecting the rinse agent door. When the top rack is moved to the higher position, the rack hits the latch on the rinse agent door, causing it to pop open.

Move the rack back to the lower position and see if the door stays closed.
