Is hydrogen the only source of fuel that can replace the current jet fuel for airplanes?

It is very hard to make an electricity powered plane engine that is as fast as the current jet engines. All you can do with electricty is just turning propellers. I think hydrogen is the only alternative clean energy that can replace jet fuel since it can burn or explode in turbines or gneinges unlike electricity?

Well technically you can make a ducted fan plane but it is highly inefficient as battery technology is still in its infant stages as well as batteries are still very heavy. Secondly Jet engines are basically high bypass turbines.. They can technically run on many different fuels such as diesel, kerosene, and propane.

Why no whole-plane parachute system on commercial flights?

Aircraft too heavy. Weight is extremely valuable/expensive and the weight of a parachute system would be too heavy and costly, sacrificing room for paying passengers.

Can civilian planes use JP-8?

JP-8 is just Jet A with some additives. As a general rule, there shouldn't be any problem, although the engine manufacturer, the airframe manufacturer and the airline will all have published something about it in their operating manuals. For more than you probably want to know, see the link.
