Is it normal for AUTHORS to use different names than their actual names?
I am a loner. I hate people knowing me and I can't stand talking. I have heard several times that authors don't use real names, but idk really..... I need advice. I am so shy, quiet and like being alone. Yet I always write and want to publish my novels and upcoming series.

If you wanted to use a name other than your own no one is stopping you love. that is completely your choice. you could use a pseudonym just like many other authors have done

*insert your name* was the girl of *insert love interest*'s dreams. Her mocha colored hair curled into waves that the ocean would envy. She was smarter than any person he had ever met before. Every day he tried to wok up the courage to talk to the girl but he saw the way her beautiful grey eyes light up when she talked to her friends. He was intimidated. His friend group was small. what if he wasn't cool enough? still.. he longed to talk to her. short and petite, she was only 4'8 while he was almost 6 ft tall. she reminded him of a girl you'd see in fairytales.
Well, honestly I think naming a child, especially your first after a Harry Potter character is great. But, as great as that sounds, you also want to secure your child's future from bullying, anti-Harry Potter fans, and etc. But those are great names as Hermione also has a origin, and many people these days name their kids after things. I mean it's better than naming your child sexfruit,(yes, someone has seriously named their child this.) Truthfully, yes I think you should name your child after Harry potter character, but when they grow up, please do not relate them to the character his/her is named after. Ex: You named your child Hermione, do not get a hermione halloween costume unless she wants to.
And never ever compare them, and tell the child how similar they are. That's how they start to hate their name. That's all I guess!! Oh, don't name him/her the full character's name. That's like an easy target for bullies.
