The Ryobi PBC3020Y petrol strimmer/brush cutter carburettor has two projecting nozzles. Which is the intake, the upper or the lower?

If this is the carb with the purge bulb on the base of the carb, then the fuel hose fits on the lower coupling, the other is the return to tank coupling.

Honda UMK435T wont start but there is spark and thr carb seems to get fuel.

change the spark plug and pull the cord a few times before putting it in. to get the gas out of the head. if it is getting fuel and fire. you might check the compression to see if something is wrong internally.

The pull cord on my Roybi rtl30ces will not retract. How do I access to repair?

Hi Kathy - more likely than not there's a little "tab" on the end of the spring that slips it to a tab in the plastic to maintain spring tension.

These break off fairly regularly and you can easily bend the spring steel to a 90 degree to "fix it" and place it back in the tab.

I've included a teardown / rebuild video that should be very helpful when repairing your weedeater - it's a "generic" ryobi video but they're all really, really similar.

Don't be intimidated - they're super easy to work on! How to Fix the Starter on Ryobi Trimmer

Starting up Ryobi Petrol Strimmer

full choke on , push petrol bubble 5 times then pull starter cord., with luck it will kick in to life after a 20/30 secs put on half choke , run again for 30 secs the no ckoke.

The main problem with Ryobi products is that they flood very very easly. So the more time you try and pump petrol into the carb the more it will flood . If that happenes then choke off and switch off and then just pull starter cord for about 30 secs then switch on and it could start if not prime it again as above good luck

I have just bought an RBC30SET. I am trying to

To remove the strimmer and procut fitment first you need to lock the shaft by placing item 35 into the slot in the flange next to the fitment and through into the hole in the outer housing of the drive shaft, item 3. Then using the box spanner turn the fitment CLOCKWISE. Once this has started to move it can be turned by hand until it released. Place the brush cutter onto the shaft followed by the dished washer, cupped face towards the cutter and fix in place with the nut, turning it anticlockwise to tighted. DO NOT overtighted as the direction the cutter turns will tighten the nut further.

Starting problem with a Ryobi rlt30ces petrol strimmer

Hi
I have had the similar problem & spent a day stripping the unit down
(dismantled & re-assembled the carb, seemed OK fuel reaching & flooding the plug) I unscrewed the spark plug from the body, but left it connected to the lead and found that there was intermittent spark when pulling the cord. and tested it with a continuity meter - no signal/measurement. bought a new spark plug, meter reading showed signal/measurement, now starts every time. It may be that Ryobi has been installing rather cheap nasty plugs. So test the plug first by watching the spark when pulling cord, test with a meter, if no continuity, buy new plug....

Check also that little gauze air filter behind the roto choke is not blocked.
this solved it for me.
