Disc tray cannot open on model RH1999H no disc inside

Take a pin and insert into a small tiny hole on the DVD tray it's gonna pop out

is there a little pin hole on the front of disc tray, if so you can rush a small metal paper clip in hole and push it open, if not you will have to take top off and get to it!. at the front of tray they will be a rubber type band around a wheelturn the wheel as far as it will go to open tray. once you get disc out, push the eject button to see if it will close tray, if it won't check to see if the will is turning if it is turning in side band, then you may need to replace the band. hope this helps. If you have to open it up, mke sure you unplug it first! do not put any type of metal inside.

It'll probably be cheaper to replace the DVD player. For future reference, at the front of the tray, there should be a tiny hole. If ejection fails, stick a straightened paper-clip in the hole. This should release the shuttle/tray and you won't need to open the whole machine

Check inside the tray to make sure no obstacles are preventing the tray from opening fully.Also try a good cleaning disc; dust may be inside the unit.Check and make sure that the button on the front of the panel is not jammed or moved slightly, and is using a full range of movement. Push the putton, and see if it moves solidly. Lastly each manufacturer has Firmware upgrades for the controller chip that runs the tray.You can go to the website of the Manufacturer of the unit, and type in the Model number and make sure that your Firmware does not have an update.

Use your knuckles to knock on top of cabinet just above disc tray door while at the same time pressing open button,99% of the time disc tray will open.The problem you have is caused by a worn out belt drive or the tray is out of alignment.The disc tray belts only cost $2,when tray is open you can see the minature belt that controls door to the right.Use twizzers to remove and replace.Belt size 1.9

wel then theres a problem wit either the game or the reader under the disc tray

The rubber band inside your PS2 might be broken, the rubber band supports the disc tray and it ejects and inserts the tray.

Sometimes if play too much long, some of the PS2 parts will be damaged by excessive heat, so my advice is that your minimum gameplay time must be 3-4 hours only.

Please den't even try forcing the tray to open, it will be more damaged.

Try resting your PS2 for about 1-2 days, after that try to open the tray, if the problem still persist bring to a PS2 fixer near you.

I just got a RH387H in Hong Kong, region 3, but the above method doesn't work, this model has slightly different icon, no "lock" icon, I tried in other similar location but no effect, hopefully someone will provide a method.

Is it making the noise like it will open then getting stuck? If so, this can be tricky! It happens with me sometimes. Press the open button and as it goes to try and open push the disc tray in slightly and up and it should pop open, it does with me anyway.
