I have a MAYTAG fridge approx 5 years old. The freezer is working but the main fridge does not cool as well. The tech said I need a new jazz board. Will cost me USD 450/-
If I re-set the damn thing. Will it fix the problem!?

it sounds like you have a bad jazz board part 12868513,go here to see it http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Main-Control-Board/12868513/1472681?replacedManufacturerPartNumber=67004453%20. unplug the machine, open the fridge door, remove the plastic cover behind the control panel, then feel behind the control panel, you'll feel a slot, one on each side, you stick a screw driver into the slot and push, one at a time and it releases the cover on the control panel, you have to push hard so don't worry the plastic is strong, you'll see the jazz board and a sensor on the right side, just remove the wires and sensor install the new board and reconnect the wires and sensor, then read the instructions that came with the new board and it will tell you how to program it,hope this helps and good luck
first thing to ck ( i would just replace it is defrost thermo pt # ( 67002493 ) and ck the heater pt # 67003426 . and i think you will have solved your problem . how ever were not alway correct so if the problem go on then the main control they cll it the jazz board . the terminator is most likely than the other's and cost less. so first things first .. mm hope this helps . feed back pls ..
ck your FAN in back of freezer / and also the dampner in top of fresh food area . if these ck ok the pc board needs replacement ( called the jaz board . ) the jazz board is verry common for your problem .. mm.
I took the time to look up your Model # and you do have the right board. Jazz 14 Should just be a revision one higher than your origional. Describe to me exactly what happens when you try to program it. You may be missing one little step. Make sure you are doing every step exactly right. I too can miss one little confirmation stroke and it seems like it wont work. I Can email you the tech sheet for your model. This will show you how to test all the sensors, and the damper to determine why the FF side is getting too cold. I will also help on my end as much as i can
