Getting my Canon Pixma MP240 to connect to my Dell Latitude E6410, USB

Hello,

Disconnect first your canon printer to the pc. if you have CD utility of the canon printer then insert it to the CD/DVD ROM and the install the the softwares. the system will be prompted you to attach the printer to the pc. and follow the on screen instruction..

In order to do this, the laptops have to be able to communicate with each other wirelessly. I.e., you have to have a wireless network set up. If you do, then you are "printer sharing", using one laptop as the 'printer server' (with the printer connected to it) and the other as the 'client'. Step by step instructions are available at this link. Type "printer sharing" in the search box in the center of the screen and click on the Search button. Select the option that matches your requirements.

Thank you for your promptitude.
Today I solved my problem. Was a cable connection problem. Cable incompatibilit or all 3 cables used before are damaged. Tuday I buy an other new cable and SUCCESS!!!: my computer see de printer ("new hardware found" when attach usb cable) , create virtual usb port, install the drivers (I have the drivers downloaded from the Canon web site) and printer is working fine.
Anyway, thank yow again for your support!

Thats funny, cause I took the cartridges out and left the lid up, unplugged it, plugged it back in with my finger on the power button and tapped the stop/reset button twice. Put the cartridges in, pressed the color start, after some moaning a test page printed. I unplugged it again, plugged it back in and I had full ink Levels!!!
