I want to replace the speed sensor myself on my L9, but all the manuals show for the L8 and the newer models. This model is from 2007 so the older Cardio Trainers with pro sports control panel. Model is L9-06136. How do I do this?
The speed sensor is in the front drive wheel. it is a sensor located on the left-hand side you will see a wire going to the sensor. then a magnet is on the wheel and when it passes by you get your speed.

SOURCE: Have purchased a used Pro Form 900 Cardio Cross Trainer
If you can hear the adjustment motor running the problem could be related to two things:
1. Broken or stretched resistance adjustment cable.
2. Broken bracket for the magnet return spring.
If the resistance is on maximum all the time the second issue is most likely the cause.
