I have a Wd16331FDK...its started making a grinding noise when filling...also has it meant to fill with cold water even though its fitted with a red and blue water pipes at back, .thank you

Clicking is fair enough as older machines which dials have a rotary motor driven switch, and also when water inlet valves open and close. Popping though is not so good and often happens when water meets electricity.

Have u fitted the right one it shud b cold blue 4 cold and hot red one,also some times with high water pressure if the valve is only open a little the pressure will mak a noise like air open valves fully

I would remove the water lines from hot and cold and look inside them on the back of the washer sometimes debris builds up on the built in screens and forced water makes it vibrate making noise like you are describing. An easy check and could save you tons of cash.

This is symptomatic of a malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill!
Sorry but it needs replacing and a service call to confirm that it is not something else ;-0(

You have two water solenoid valves, one hot water and one for cold. If you switch the hot and cold water hose connections the washer may fill. If it does, the solenoid valve is defective, and you will need to order a new one and replace it. If you take off the back panel of the washer you can follow the hose to the solenoid which has wires connected to it. Did you stick a bucket under the water faucet to make sure water is actually coming out of the faucet when you turn it on?

If there are 2 inlet valves at the rear of the washer, it is meant to be connected to hot and cold supply.
However, if you just wish to cold fill only, then you can fit a Y piece to the cold supply tap, and connect both hoses to this, and then to the washer.
Then whatever prog you select, it will fill with cold water.
You can get a Y piece from B&Q or some place like that.

chek the water elctrovalvles and replace it , this most be 1 solution another will the hyperstatic hose or sensor of load size

most new washers have cold water only rinse and spray rinse ck cold water coming into machine during wash if no cold comes in suspect cold side of fill vale not opening ..could be wiring issue or a bad valve

Having the same problem. Any ideas at all? It's really frustrating.

mw511 fills with water but cylinder isnt spinnig and when it stops filling nothing happens. However sometimes it will go complete cycle ans a noise can be heard on spin cycle even though it is not spinning. As thoiugh the motor is not engaging with the cylinder
