SOURCE: watch battery replacement

I have a Timex Expedition Indigo with a metal case. Not sure of the exact model number but on the back there an M6 below Expedition. Anyway, I had the same problem of snapping the back back on. I found a "battery" website that had some suggestions that should be typical of any snap back case watch. http://www.online-batteries.co.uk/whichbattery.shtml specifically they said that when you try to press the back on it must be flat (not one edge down as I had been trying) Put the watch face down on a non scratch surface and press with both thumbs evenly. If that doesn't work a press will be needed. If you have a vice a couple of blocks of wood to distribute the load on the front and back may work, otherwise take it to a jeweler with the proper equipment. The thumb routine didn't work for me. I have a vice but figured many wouldn't so I tried something else first. I put the watch face down on a piece of wood. I found a small 2" long scrap of wood (3/4" x 1.5" approx) that spanned the back. I centered the back (aligned properly) placed the block of wood squarely and centered across the back and tapped the end of the block with a hammer. First try didn't work, second one did. I used a rubber mallet as the hammer but a regular hammer or other heavy object would work. The trick, I think, is to get everything lined up and square so the blow is centered and even. Also, I'd suggest cleaning the back and the groove in the case and be sure the rubber gasket is properly positioned. This will give you the best chance of retaining the waterproofing. And remember to check that the watch is running before you do this. Some need to be reset (usually with a very small screwdriver or pin) after replacing the battery. There should be a small hole with some printing next to it. You may need a magnifying glass to see/read it. Good Luck, Richard

SOURCE: Replaced battery, now no beep.

I have a Timex Digital Heart Rate Monitor 585 (product code T5C351F5)m, which has the same Short AC Pad and battery +ve message. There is an arrowhead pointing to the pad. It's a raised metal platform - a bit different to some of the Ironman's mentioned above. Here is a pic...6e1fe0e.jpg

SOURCE: How to replace battery for Timex expedition

Remove the four screws that hold the battery cover on the back of the watch. Remove the 3 very small screws that hold the battery in place. Remove the battery from the battery holder. The piece that the 3 small screws were removed from seperates from the 3 volt 2016 energizer battery. Replace the battery with a new one. Re-install the battery holder to the watch. There is a small tab on the lower left part of the battery holder that needs to be depressed to activate the watch. Depress it and look at the face of the watch to make sure it is activated. The watch will need to have the time, date etc reset but you should now be able to see that the battery is working. Replace the battery cover and reset the time and date as needed.

CHanging battery on timex expedition, cover says

If you don't have the proper tools I recommend that you not do this yourself. You could scratch the case or damage the movement if you don't know what you're doing. If it's a water resistant watch the gasket also needs to be replaced once it is opened. DO NOT reuse a gasket! For about $8 any watch or jewelry2_bing.gif store can change the battery and renew the gasket for you.

After replacing battery, the watch does not

I found and pressed the reset button with a tiny screw driver. After about 10 attempts, I pressed the function side button and found that date and time displayed temporarily while holding button down.

Finally after more reset attempts, the time did display.

I have a Timex expedition chronograh. Every thin

The nice thing about Timex is they have a 12 month warranty that covers just about everything. If you have had the watch longer....
Get the batteries checked. Battery life is typically about 2 years.
If the battery is fine then you can try having the watch reset but in most cases the LCD board or circuit board is damaged the watch has to be replaced to have it function correctly.

Timex expedition compass battery replacement?

hi
i am not an expert in this particular case but i followed theses below steps . here are they.....

Unscrew the case back with a case back tool (aka Jaxa wrench) which engages
the notches in the case back. I'm assuming the watch has a screw back - if
it has notches it does. Pop out the old battery.

In some watches you have to
unscrew a clip but in most the battery pops right out. Examine movement for
evidence of battery leakage or other damage. Carefully clear away any crud
at the edge of the case - the tiniest metal shaving will short out the coil.
Install new battery of same type. Handle new battery with non-metal tweezers
or rubber gloves, never bare fingers. Inspect case back gasket or preferably
just replace it with new o-ring of same size. Gasket should be lubricated
with silicone grease. Reinstall case back using wrench. If you are
concerned with water resistance the watch needs to be tested in a pressure
test machine. I'm sure the pros have more tips but this should suffice for a
Timex where it would not be a big loss to damage or break the watch.

i hope you can successfully replace the battery
thank you
