Bought this 2nd hand it wasn't used for 2 yrs. Could it be the circuit board? bought new batteries still dead - 0 power to anything.
Follow the wires for the batteries into the rest of the wiring. Look for a large fuse for the batteries, for safety's sake they probably have one somewhere.
Make sure the joystick connector is connected as I believe that includes the on-off button.
Make sure you didn't connect the batteries in parallel or backwards.
Yes the control board is likely the cause if all battery connections are checked and pass
