I have a Brown ooze coming out of the engine compartment of my blender

Perhaps your engine needs and oil change Donald :>D

It is generally food that has leaked through the bottom seals, or it is grease. Take it apart, clean and lubricate. The screws are normally hidden under the feet.

Or, treat yourself to a new one and give the old one to Goodwill.

Kitchenaid KSB655C5 blender locking collar doesn't go down on one side when assembled. Both sides of locking collar are away and symmetrical when off the jar.

I would say pull it apart again and fiddle about with it a bit paying some attention to that spring loaded ring that's causing you grief. I don't have one here to look at but I know I've seen that problem before and it's something to do with that ring underneath needing to be turned to a certain position so that it engages properly. There are some notches in it that need to be in a p[articular position. We never saw that version for too long, the following model had a plastic beaker without all that rubbish on the bottom.

Cup wont press down onto motor grips

Have you got something caught in it? Is it still under warranty? I am guessing but the mechanism inside the base should drop when you push to twist. Check is this is happening. If not then that may be the problem

Burning smell in the container and outside when in use

Seal under blade Assembly, on shaft leaks, allows liquid to enter bearing, which then fails, creates heat and overheats rubber, thus the smell. Bearing and seal must be replaced.
