I have a dead Samsung UN55H6400AFXZA... one year old... (already replaced) I would like to attempt to repair it then give it to family, or charity, or something. Seems a waste to simply take it to the dump. Bottom Line Up Front: I think its a logic issue of some kind. Starting with the TV unplugged... then plugging it in the STBY Light comes on. The remote will power it on, the Light blinks a time or two as usual... The SMART TV graphic appears as usual... then the screen goes dark (although with the room darkened the the back lighting can be seen) with no further video to be seen. The remote has no further effect... no menu, none of the remote buttons cause anything to change... cannot even turn the TV off. To turn it off it has to be unplugged. I am guessing that either a MAIN board or T-CON or the interconnecting cable are the issue. However, I am not totally confident in this assessment, and if it happens to be correct, then I am sure I don't know enough about the function of each of these parts to prioritize the likelihood of failure... can you advise?
You fail to give us model information and age of this unit.
If all else fails wallyworld has a 60" 1080 on sale for $395.00 at that price it might be cheaper than fixing yours.

this is common issue with this model and through your troubleshooting is tied to y main board. blinking led on logic main in normal operation. when replacing y main always good idea to replace y upper and lowe buffer boards as they complete a circuit and sometimes replacing one without other could cause additional failure on remaining boards

Check BL_ERR pin on back light inverter board, what is volt reading that you get before and after tv shuts down? Let me know to proceed.
Thanks.
BTW, I really enjoyed your quote * I don't trust the blinking anymore *

Hello
If cable box converter has damaged, there is no question about the main board of your TV. It has been damaged. Before replacing it, you have to check the power supply board also. If the TV has been pluged to power supply, surely there will be fault to it also. We can't predict the exact fault occurs during a lightning, because Trillions of volts are passes nearby. You have connected the TV with cable connection and to the home power supply too.
Just replace the main board first. If it does not hel you, replace the power board too. I hereby send picture of both boards.
The first one is main board and the other is power supply regulator board.

Main board is most likely but that is an educated guess--problem with all these is you can only check so many things and then have to guess and try a board.
