SOURCE: Locating the Wireless switch on my older Sony Viao Laptop

Hi there, my name is Alex and I am here to help solve your problem

On older models, the wireless switch is the Fun key (the key between the bottom windows logo key and control) with number 2. Press those 2 keys together and it should turn on.

I hope this info helps, please let me know if you experience any problems

Radio wouldnt turn off even with the car off the radio still played. drained my car battery so i disconnected it is it the player or wiring?

Unlikely to be the wiring if it is still all original.
If the radio is a new fitment it should be noted some radios should not be fitted to some cars without modified wiring because a flat battery will result...

Sometimes the on/off switch of an older radio will fail.

The modern original fitment radios are computer controlled and try to anticipate what the driver wants. If the radio won't turn off it will either be the radio or the controlling computer. Dealer level diagnostic equipment might be able to locate the problem and a wiring diagram might be helpful.

Windscreen wipers wont turn off

I can think of several possibilities:

1. When replacing the battery, some sort of shortcircuit might have occurrred messing up the fuses.
Solution: Refer to your user's manual to identify where the wipers' fuse is located and try replacing it.

2. As far as I'm concerned, a way to "reset" the computer in the car is disconnecting the battery, so the computer may have been reset with wrong parameters.
Solution: Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes? and plug it back?.

3. If your model has automatic wipers, try switching from auto to manual mode and viceversa.

4. When the battery on my 206 was almost worn out, the lights kept turning on after killing the switch, followed by a quick beeping (which normally indicates the power in the battery is draining). At first, I thought it was the switch of the headlamps, but after replacing the battery with a new one, the problem got solved. Maybe the battery you just put in is faulty?

Hope any of the above helps.

Computer has not power

If the power supply is bad replace it.

If the computer boots up for a second and then shuts down you can try the following method:

Remove the battery for a few minutes, put the battery back. Locate the connection to the power switch, turn computer on and then quickly disconnect the power switch

. If you have a battery with a power switch you can use that instead. Otherwise if this method solves your problem you will have to turn the computer on and off by plugging and unplugging it.

If you are going to get a new power supply, look for one that has a power switch on it.

The laptop will only work on the mains cable

1) Check that the battery is correctly and firmly installed
2) If your BIOS has a "battery check" feature, run it
3) Try powering down the laptop for 3 hours while being connected to the charger and see if the battery charges
4) You may need a new battery if it is older than 3 years. You can try by switching it with a friend's battery or buy a cheap one for $20-$60 on eAby or a local computer store (try to locate a non-chain store that buys and sells USED laptops, it may be cheaper)

Good luck and please, let me know if it worked

Parking lights won't shut off

my best guess there is a switch on the older models for turning the parking lights on without the headlight switch and it was located on the top of the steering column cover
