Try a reset to factory default and then setup from scratch before anything else.
Can I suggest that you obtain a quality surge protector..
If the reset is no good please repost. Also, turn the power off for all devices attached to the tv for a few minutes before attempting the reset.

Thanks for responding. I did the factory reset but it didnt help. I do have a surge protector. Its not top of the line but it's not cheap either. So i can look for a better one. I dont understand why only the hdmi input would break.

SOURCE: HDMI ports do not work after lightning storm

Probably not, but your insurance should pay if you have a renter or homeowner policy.

SOURCE: i have a vizio 55

I am having the same issue with our Vizio E550VL TV. Does your TV show No Signal on the screen? I was able to get regular AV to work with the Yellow, Red, and White cable to work but none of the HDMI ports would not work. If it does not power on at all it may be the power supply. I had to order the main board to get it to work correctly. Vizparts.com is where you can order it from.

Replace the power board for starters, but unfortunately it may not be worth repair if lightning hit the set.

I have a Samsung led 60 inch TV. We had a lightning strike very close to the house. I now show no sources to choose from. All HDMI ports not working. What card probably needs replacing please?

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Panasonic Plasma TH-42PZ80U HDMI do not work after lightning storm

I don't have a solution, unfortunately, but your problem is nearly identical to mine. It even seems to have happened on the same date (7/27/12)! Do you live near Dener by chance? Anyway, we have Direct Tv, and ended up with 2 fried HD DVR boxes and 2 TVs on which the HDMI connections don't work after lightning hit close to our house on 7/27. Those boxes were replaced, as was part of the Direct TV dish. The only difference is, whereas on one TV component connections (red/white/yellow cables) allowed the TV to work normally, on the other (my 50 inch Panasonic Plasma TCP50S30) even the red/white/yellow cables did not work. Now I'm scouting the net for tips on what else to try before I possibly have the Panasonic looked at, which I am hedging on doing since I got it for only $600 new in the first place. Have you found out anything else since you posted this? Good luck to you...
