"F06" is a motor speed error code. This means there is a problem with either the drive motor, motor control unit (MCU), or interconnecting wiring. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r714929-f06_error_whirlpool_duet_kenmore_elite

I would begin by attempting to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). This is the main computer for the washer. Sometimes these error codes can be erroneous. If you unplug the washer for at least 30 minutes, this will reset the CCU. Often, this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches. If the error code reappears following a CCU reset, then you have a legitimate problem.

If resetting the CCU doesn't work, verify all your connector plugs on the drive motor and MCU by unplugging and replugging each one (one at a time). Sometimes these connector plugs can vibrate loose.

If these preliminary steps don't work, follow the advice in the link provided. If you have any questions please let me know. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: I have a Kenmore Elite

The error is an indication a motor speed problem. You will need to check the following:

- Check the wiring harness. Verify all connections between the Drive Motor, Motor Control Unit (MCU), and Central Control Unit (CCU).

NOTE: The MCU is a circuit board located in the vicinity of the Drive Motor on the bottom rear of the washer. To access the MCU, you will need to remove the back panel of the washer.

NOTE: The CCU is the main computer for the washer and is located behind the wash tub. You will need to remove the top panel to access the CCU. This is accomplished by removing the three screws in the back of the washer that hold the top in place. Once the screws are removed, the top panel will slide back, then lift off.

- Check the Drive Motor. Perform a continuity check of the Drive Motor windings. Remove the connector plug and check across pins 1 to 2, 2 to 3, and 1 to 3. All readings should be approximately 6 ohms. HINT: You can also take this reading by removing connector 2 from the MCU and measuring across pins 1, 2 and 3. If the readings are good, this will also prove the wiring and connector good.

- Check the MCU. The connectors are numbered 1 to 3 (L to R). That is, with the MCU installed, connector 1 is on the bottom, followed by 2 in the middle, and 3 on top.

Connector 1 - is the serial communications link between the MCU and CCU and has three wires. At the opposite end, this will be the 2nd connector from the rear on the left-hand side of the CCU.
Connector 2 - is the link between the MCU and the Drive Motor. Pins 1, 2, and 3 on this connector are the Drive Motor windings. Pins 4 and 5 are for the tachometer.
Connector 3 - is the primary power connector. Pins 1 to 2 should read 120VAC with the door in the locked position. Pin 3 is ground. At the opposite end, this is the 4th connector from the right on the front of the CCU.

NOTE: All the connector pins are numbered R to L.

If your continuity readings are normal for the Drive Motor and you have verified all connectors, replace the MCU.

If any of the Drive Motor windings indicate readings higher that 6 ohms, replace the Drive Motor.

SOURCE: Iget a f-11 trouble code on my kenmore elite he4t washer.

REplace your MCU. The MCU is the Drive Motor Control board and is located in the rear of the washer adjacent to the Drive Motor on the left-hand side (facing from the rear with the back panel removed). The wiring harness can also cause the error, but it is not as common a problem. Go onto kenmore.com and find your right washing machine and replace the part yourself. First try and take the wiring harness off and then reconnect it and see if the error code goes away if it doesnt then replace the part. Please Rate. Thank you

Kenmore He4t front load washer f 06 error code

This answer is actually from Sears Parts Direct: The F06 error code
indicates a drive motor tachometer error. This error is virtually impossible to accurately diagnose. The most suspect components that would cause this failure code are the drive motor, the motor control unit (control board) or the wire harness. In some instances, this could be caused by severely overloading the washer so that it cannot spin properly. Make sure that the washer is not overloaded. Another problem that could cause the error code to be displayed intermittently would be a loose wire harness connection that is affected by vibration when the washer is spinning at high speed. Good lucks, hope it helps

WILL HE4T RUN WITH KICK PANEL AND BACK PANEL OFF?

The washer will run without the panels in place. As a technician it is common practice to troubleshoot with the bottom panel and/or back panel removed in order to see if certain components are working. The "F06" error is a motor speed problem. With this fault, the washer will shut down if the motor speed is not detected, or reach optimum rpms. The fault is usually caused by a failure of the Motor Control Unit (MCU) or Drive Motor.
