Plant it - put some potting compost with some grit into a pot ,dont over water, put in cutting + put the whole thing in- side a bag for a week or more.
Because it was superglued, there may still be some cracks the air is seeping through. You need to use a glue like GOOP to seal the cracks in the housing. GOOP can be bought at Lowes or Home Depot or possibly any hardware
Could try the person who gave you the present and see if they still have record bill of sale, if so return to store refund or replacement? Best of luck

You have to know the conditions of repair when you purchased the unit. if you bought additional protection for that kind of damage, you should be able to get it repaired. but it should be written on the information you have with the equipment you bought. Normally, if it's not a "product defect" , there is a fee to get this repaired. By that I mean if the unit got dropped or hit etc..... then it is not usually considered normal wear and tear. Read the info that came with your agreement! Good luck!
Make absolutley sure you didnt crack the limb. This could be very dangerous. If its not cracked , can you not just re adjust your sights ? The vibration could have just knocked them off.
