SOURCE: Iron causing electrical fuse to trip
I would almost definitely say yes. Have a friend or family member bring their iron over and try it. I can think of no other reason why it would trip a breaker. Let me know what happens.

yes my bosch did the same but then it started working again only to pour vast amounts of water all over the clothes

You may not need a new iron, my wife's iron is doing the same thing. take the top of the ironing board off (you will need a torx t-20 security bit driver), under the tank is a connection that may have rusted out re-connet it and turn the iron on. Once it heats up, check the tank for leaks. The tank may need to be replace as well or try a 5-minute epoxy type glue on the leaks once it has cooled. If the tank leaks you will get not get enlugh pressure building up to get the steam.

Your steam generator my have mineral deposits that are clogging the steam openings. One of the easiest things to do is to pour out the water and add white vinegar. Let the vinegar sit for about 2 hours. Then turn on the iron and press the steam button until the deposits are loosened and flushed by the heat and steaming vinegar. Do this on a towel or other absorbent fabric so you don't stain your ironing board. You may need to unplug the iron, let it cool and then gently **** the steam vents with a wooden skewer or toothpick.
I hope this helps you. If it does, please rate my suggestion!

see the instruction from your manual:
Check the owner's manual for your iron to learn the manufacturer's
suggestions for cleaning, what water to use, and storage tips.
Soft-water systems add minerals that can harm an electric steam iron and
your clothes so don't fill the iron with softened water. Instead, use
filtered or distilled water.
2) if the iron does not heat a( test the power cord for open or defective b) and thermostat for adjust c) test the thermal fuse d) test the heating element for open.
God bless you

If your Bosch Sensixx B35L trips your consumer unit miniture circuit breaker (MCB) it could be, like mine, that there is limescale build-up on the insulator between the "live" wire into the steam generator heater and the casing, thus allowing sufficient electric electric current to pass between the two to trip the MCB. Cleaning the limescale has resolved my problem and took me 10 minutes to fix. Obviously use a competent repair person to do the work.
