Bad BIOS checksum: the software on a chip on the motherboard has become corrupted.

Sometimes, you can find a "BIOS update" on the manufacturer's web-site, so that the contents of that chip can be refreshed,
i.e., by booting from a diskette (or from a USB memory-stick) that contains the replacement software.

Contact a qualified technician, and pay them for 1 hour of labour.
Or, replace the motherboard.

How do you flash the BIOS

What happens when you turn the computer on?

If the bios is working enough to enable you to boot from a CD download the new bios from asus along with there AFUDOS.exe flash utility and make a bootable CD and copy both to it.

If the bios is completly none functional you should be getting this msg when you turn the computer on,
Boot Block Compatible Version Ver .010
Bad BIOS checksum. Starting BIOS Recovery
Checking for floppy . .
Floppy not found
Checking for CD rom . . .
CD not found
Checking for floppy . .
Floppy not found
Checking for CD rom . . .
CD not found

Repeat adinfinitum.
If this is the case you need download the most recent BIOS from compaq and either copy it to a bootable CD if you have this capability or buy a floppy drive for $5 and make a bootable floppy on a working computer and copy this BIOS file to it. Then rename the bios file to A8N32SLI.ROM.

You may not even need make the floppy bootable but I would just in case.

Stick the floppy in the drive turn the computer on and you will see

Boot Block Compatible Version Ver .010
Bad BIOS checksum. Starting BIOS Recovery
Checking for floppy . . .
Floppy found.
Reading file "A8N32SLI.ROM" . Completed.
Start Erasing...
Start programing . . ./
Please turn off your system and power on again to get system back.

and happy days will be here.

BAD BIOS CHECKSUM, STARTING BIOS RECOVERY...

I have seen this be a CMOS battery many times. Also, you can try flashing the BIOS if you continue to have troubles after replacing the battery. You should be able to find that information on the motherboard manufacturer's website.

Everytime i switched on my asus eee pc netbook, this will come out: Boot Block Compatible Version Ver.032 Please do NOT insert any disc into CD-ROM if you want to recovery with an USB device. Bad BIOS...

It sounds like you will have to make a Bootable Flash Drive with your Netbooks latest BIOS and a Flashing program (which ever ASUS uses, i'm not sure). Once you have that then you plug it in to the USB port and start the computer and follow the on-screen instructions. There are a lot of tutorials on the web on how to make a bootable flash drive for your BIOS.

Please Tell me, ASUS P4S8X-MX Problemn

First of all, try to reseat all the cables inside your computer just make sure there aren't any loose connections.

If that doesn't work you will have to reset your BIOS. (Follow the instructions in your motherboard manual.)

If even after resetting the BIOS the problem is not solved, you may have to replace your CMOS Battery.
