To be sure you can use a test light, touch one lead from the test light to the frame of the tractor and the other lead to the Positive + terminal of the battery if it lights up it is negative ground if not touch the negative - terminal of the battery and if it lights it is positive ground.
One thing to check if it was converted to negative ground is that the switched the wire on the ignition coil.

I have a john deere 2010. with a generator it is a - john-deere-2010-generator-pos-ground-qumruwi2utlvsp5qakcuppif-5-0.jpg Using your test light you need to turn the key to run position, touch one lead to the negative - terminal of the battery and on the ignition coil touch the Bat + threaded stud it should light and means it correct and do nothing. if not touch the Dist - threaded stud and see if it lights if it does move the wires on the ignition coil to where every wire on the Bat + threaded stud is moved to the dist - and every wire on the Dist - threaded stud is moved to the Bat +.
There is a good chance your charge gauge is backwards also , it swings in the direction the current runs and when it was reversed so did the needle on the gauge and in the case it does not mean it is discharging.

Can I jump start a john deere 445

Yes, you can jump start it with any 12 volt battery on any vehicle. Just do not have the donor vehicle running. Connect the positive cable from the donor battery to the positive post on the battery on the mower. Then connect the negative cable from the donor battery to the engine block or other ground source on the mower. Do not connect it to the negative post on the battery. Make sure you have a good connection on bare metal for the negative cable. Disconnect the negative cable the instant the mower starts.

I have a 3010 John Deere +24 volt pos ground how do I change from 24 volt gererator to a 24 volt altenator

The 3010 24v JD system is not a true 24v system. It is a balanced split 12v system, with one positive ground battery and one negative ground battery. The only 24 volt accessory is the starter, where the batteries meet in a series to provide 24 volts for starting. All other accessories are 12v, half powered by the positive ground battery and half powered by the negative battery. The generator charges one battery in one direction and the other battery in the reverse direction. Therefore a 24v alternator is not easily adapted to this system.
The usual solution is to change to a 12v system with an alternator, changing the starter to 12v and changing the polarity of the positive ground battery to negative ground.
The cost of a 12v starter and alternator is far less than the cost of a 24v alternator, plus the added benefit of using 12v lights and other accessories.
JD switched to this 12v type of system with alternator during the 20 series production, but used two 6v batteries in a series due to the larger cranking amp rating of the 6v batteries occupying the same physical space.

MY CARBURETOR IS WEAR DOWNWHICH I BEEN PUTTING KITS SO SHOULD I BUY A NEW CARBURETOR FOR 2010 GAS MOTOR,it,s a john-deere tractor

Yes it is time to buy a new carberator unless you know someone who can make and install bushings in the trottle plate shaft, and choke shaft. What normally happens over time is the shaft wears into the housing as it is being used which allows ecsessive air into the fuel air mixer which causes inproper run conditions and no matter how much you adjust all the settings you cannot overcome this condition so its either get new bushings made and installed or purchase a new carberator. Hope This Helps Don
