to play online you must pay for an xbox live gold subscription. you can do it on your xbox where it says upgrade profile, online at the xbox website under the my xbox tab, then accounts, then under membership options choose upgrade/manage account or you can buy a gold subscription card at any games store. the smallest you can get is 1 month for just over ten dollars, or 12 month which is usually about 80 dollars. note that you need a valid credit or debit card to purchase online.

You can go through windows live, it's on the header, just click on the x-box icon.

Some game are compatible with the new xbox 360. They are called backwards compatible and you do need to flash upgrade the OS on the new xbox 360 system.

You need to go to the xbox website and go to support and download the flash update then burn it to disk and put it on the xbox to update the software. Again not all old games are compatible with the new xbox system. If your buying used games like I do make sure it says bc next to the title before buying them.

that means a fault you will have to have it serviced or do a upgrade if u have 3 lights means the xbox died ring of death so have it checked or try a upgrade
