Have a gourmet classic gr6gv/mkll.grill problem when you push button and turn grill lights soon has you release go's out no matter how long you have it pushed in

What happens is that the upper post (see the back of the plates; there's a quarter inch wide post) slides into a slot not designed for it (too small). To fix, find the post. Slide a table knife in between the plate and the griddler, and twist. This should un-jam the post and free the plate.

Yeah it takes a good push and a sharp tug to get them off if they've been there for awhile, they get greasy and stick, They sometimes bend a bit coming out but they're easy to staighten after you clean them. and yes they are one part.

I just bought one of these, and I'm having a similar issue. The positive terminal of the AAA battery and its associated contact point become corroded quickly. The short term solution is to use a small screwdriver to scratch some of the corrosion products off of the contact point, and put in a new AAA battery (or clean the old one). I'm going to try to clean the contacts and apply a little petroleum jelly at that spot. Hopefully, this will prevent the corrosion...
