First, what are the problems with your Night Owl monocular? I can't help you. You'll need to give more information on what is wrong with the Night Owl monocular. stewbison
kello, you NV devise Night Owl can't see mice at night now. I think may so, it has been taking a look see at many bright lights at night and during the day. No good for Night Owl now the poor Night Owl will have to be fed by hand, or it could die and go back to the mighty Red Star Place.
That seems to be a problem with these monoculars from different US companies. The majority of this unit are manufactured in Russia. For the companies that have thes NV made with logo on them are looking at the profit line. Buy cheap, sell high. Put you name on it and send it me. I will tell you what wrong with. Night Owl Optics is located El Paso, TX. They will not give you any informations on you NV monocular. This is called "Propriatary Use Only" it means they fix these units and nobody else. They are manufactured in Russian. stewbsion
That lens is a F1.7 with 80mm input lens. Take threaded end an measure it diameter and thread sizes. You could up dat this lens to 90 or 100mm. Ask Night Owl Optics in El Paso, TX. And listen to what they have to say. You can check with Optics companies with demenision of the front lens and they probably matich it up. stewbison
How does your Night Owl keep telling you that you have limited authority. Does
you Night Owl have a liquid crystal screen, or does it have a phone system that
you can communicate with you NV optics, How!!
Don't worry about it. If you called Night Owl in El Paso, TX. and started
communicating with voice activated phone system. There are certain parameters
that are off limits to the general public. There used by the employee's of Night
Owl.
If you going to ask Night Owl for parts other than, lens covers, Optic lens
and may a few parts for the lens or IR and operation manuals. They might sell
these parts to you. Any thing else is called "proprietary". Short and sweet,
it's their secret. sorry.
Now, if you having problems with you Night Owl NV give me a buzz.

Yes, If you turned the Night Owl on during the daylight hours, or looking directly into bright lights. If you have done this more than few time it could have damaged the image intensifier tube. If this happen to many times, it's finny, kaput, so long, it gone south, and gone bye-bye.
Looking at bright lights is damaging to NV devise. The intensity plate in the image tube, magify the existing light about 3000 to 8000 (radian light from the stars, moon and other light sources). You have 80mm front lens on the Night Owl NOCP5. This mean that more light can inter into image tube.
Sir, have you been looking at bright lights, operate NV system during the day, have you? If not, there could be something else worng with you Night Owl. stewbison
