Horizon Fitness Treadmill new motor starts but cuts out in less than 5 seconds

I have just installed a brand new motor on my Horizon Fitness CST3.5 treadmill but I can't get the treadmill working again. When I switch the machine on the console works and the motor will begin to turn the belt but it cuts out after a few seconds. I have tried disconnecting the belt from the motor to see if that was causing the problem but the same thing happens, the motor spins but then stops within seconds. Can anyone help me fix this?

Perfect, glad to here your up and running. That censor is probably the starter as I stated as being faulty.

No motor starter .... Rather a controller. Of you replaced the motor why was that and did a bad motor stress that controller? Model and year would help, also look for a small potentiometer on horizon boards that can be adjusted cw, clockwise gently and retry. Also, have you gotten the machine to calibrate? Unplugging cables and powering up can be fatal to some controllers. Missing roller feedback or encoder will also kill belt drive, these controllers are intelligent as to not cause injuries. Good luck.

Sounds like a faulty motor starter if equipped or motor it self faulty.

Thanks for your answer - I found out that it was the sensor attached to the motor, by swapping it with the old one the problem has been solved.

Horizon T5000 treadmill stopped working.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Hoover Vacuums to Horizon Treadmill.

You shorted out the motor control board, you need a new one, or the old one repairing. It does have a circuit breaker according to the parts diagram so try and find that.

hi,
from ur description i think ur treadmills control module have problem. motor driving card and motor is ok. normally there are no serviceable part inside the controlling module ( user interface module). only thing can do is remove the controlling module, take out its board check all the micro switches( press button switches) replace it found faulty or not( remember to remove the power before). the refix it and the test the tread mill.

I have a Horizon fitness CST3 and the belt stops running but everything else stays on. Do you know what is cuasing my problem?

How old is your treadmill? Has the deck been lubricated? Do you smell anything odd when the belt stops? Unplug treadmill, remove motor cover and check cables are all connected.
