Before burning a DVD, there is one thing that you have to know. Some people are creating a data DVD that is usually only readable by a compute, others are creating a video DVD that can play in a DVD player
Video DVD, is similar to a vinyl record. Information is written to a DVD in the form of video and audio "streams" that are decoded by a DVD player's laser (think a high-tech record player needle). A video DVD has to be decoded for the video to play.

Hello!I'm using Toshiba Satellite L745 (Bought in Malaysia),It does not recognize any blu-ray disks. No sign of them in the 'My Computer'. Is there anything I should install in my laptop to

It does not have a Blu-Ray player, or that's what the specs say. You have a OPTICAL DRIVE*DVD-SuperMulti drive (+/-R double layer) Found here:http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite/L740/L745-S4210/

Make sure you have some softwear on your computer that plays DVD's...
If you do not then you can download a free player at the following website.

Toshiba satellite a300 wont load dvd but will play cd. Was working fine yesterday (dvds work ok on my other laptop)

Try to upgrade the driver for the DVD player. This is done in the Device Manager.
Upgrade or reinstall the software used to play the DVD.
One of the best players for DVD and all sorts of other media is the VLC player - a free download.

The Toshiba DVD player won't play a DVD nor will Windows Media Player play a DVD. Downloaded another free DVD player from web and it worked momentarily then quit.

Check the Toshiba site for updated drivers for your dvd player. Also check the recall section for your particular model dvd player. They had several that were recalled.

My dvdplayer wont playdvd

Try a different DVD If that doesnt work then try a music CD. If that dosent work then in sorry but the laser Mechanism has gone bad and it would cost more to repair the DVD player then replace it.
