SOURCE: Ice maker only makes cubes. It will not make crushed ice.

Hi

Kindly check it could be because of following reasons :

  • Freezer may not be cold enough.
Temperature must be 5 degrees (Fahrenheit) or colder to work properly.
  • Normal ice making capacity.
The ice maker will produce between 2.5 to 4.0 pounds of ice a day depending on your model. Side-by-side models come with a large ice bucket and it may take up to three days to fill this container.
  • Water supply valve may not be completely open.
    Open valve completely.
  • Water supply valve may be blocked by foreign material or may not be large enough.
Supply valve must have a 1/4" opening for water to fully supply ice maker. Many self-piercing valves do not have this big of an opening. Replace water supply valve with one that has a 1/4" opening.
  • Water filter may need changing.
If equipped with a water filter, replace filter canister or cartridge.
Please feel free to contact for further assistance

    Thanks

SOURCE: icemaker not filling with water

Try using an hairdryer or defrosting the unit completely , this often get rid of blockage caused by frozen lines fixing the problem.

The water lines can also be unblocked from dirt using a thin flexible shaft. This after defrosting.

If all that does not fix the problem, then you may need to replace the water valve, the icemaker solenoid, or the whole icemaker assembly.

It despense water, but does not make ice

Either the water valve is bad or the icemaker is bad, assuming it is turned on.
Check the valve with the wires off with an ohmmeter.
If it shows continuity, the icemaker is bad.

Not getting water to ice maker or water despenser

1st make sure the water is on. Then advance the icemaker. What model do you have. If you dont have a electrical display then remove the cover and turn the smaller gear with a 5/16 screw counter clockwise. The ejector blade will get to 2 oclock when it will go on its own. When the ejector blade reaches 10 oclock then it will call for water. U-line icemakers have to reach temperature before it advances the icemaker. Again what model is it?

The water despenser works but the icemaker doesn't

The most popular problem area is the fill tube by the icemaker. Check for an ice build up inside of the tube. If that isn't the problem, you must ck the coils on the filter valve and the coils on the supply valve with an ohm meter. Check for kinked water lines, leaky water lines etc. An after thought, make sure that the icemaker itself hasn't got a huge bunch of ice it built up and can't dump out.

Broken ice maker in whirlpool side by side refrig model no.ed2ghgxmq00

    1. Check freezer temp. Above 5 degrees? Icemaker will not start. 2. Make sure there is water coming to the refrigerator from the supply line. 3. Is the refrigerator clean underneath? Fan running? Dirty refer bottom can cause high freezer temps, see #1. Ideal freezer temp is -5. Icemaker and valve should be checked by a service tech.

Hotpoint side by side Model HSS25GFPJWW

Your problems are the power board for sure. I have the same refrigerator and have read dozens of forums and advise pages looking for answers. If you let the problem countinue your fridge will completely stop cooling and all your food will be trash as has happened to me.

Symptoms: Fan in the back starts to make click or flopping sound as it tries to start up. Ice despenser doesent despense ice. water works sometimes. Eventually you notice your food defrosting partially and then refreezing as the defrost timer stops working which is controlled by the power board. Light dims and pulses when you hold the Ice despencer in. If you remove the light for the dispencer your water will work fine as long as the fan isnt making the clicking noise. Fan will eventually start up and run.

FYI GE customer Care is useless

Side by side fridge / freezer - Icemaker problems

What kind of ice maker do you have? Is it "Ice Maker Plus"? Pull the ice bucket out so you can get a better view. On the back of the freezer is a spout ramp that should connect to the back of the ice tray water deflector that the wire connects to. (I know, It's cold in there). The water deflector is connected to the back of the ice tray which sends the water to the tray. It should snap in.
