How to fix overheats on Samsung

I just bought the S6 edge... This thing overheat like crazy. If i play Mortal Kombat, it overheat. If i play another intense game it overheat. If i stay in fb or twitter for a long perior during the day without air conditioner, it get super hot in the back. How to settle this

remember that it's not the device itself, but how you use it.. driving a lambo 100mph for hours and then complaining to the dealer that something is wrong with it because it gets too hot.. that's on you.. so learn to use the device to your advantage and your S6 will treat you better. My S4 will game for 2-4 hours on a charge with less battery life than the S6 with my tips.. My Note 4 will game for 4-6 hours with my tips, which is similar to the S6 edge in size.. (I have a collection of Galaxy's)

Samsung Galaxy S6: overheating issue:

Hello. I am a former Samsung FSR (Field Service Rep)

Please consider what you have first. Your Galaxy S6 is a powerful device, like a Lamborghini with a powerful V12 engine. If you run it hard for several hours, it runs hot. The smaller electronics they are.. the hotter it will run ~ and remember it has no fan. It does have a heat sink, but it's nothing like the S7's new heat-pipe.

Just like your computer which will run hot when you play intense graphic games, this is no different on a high end Android device.

It is the nature of all mobile devices to get hot. Meaning no one thing will help you make your phone stay cool if you play intense games, or use Facebook for long periods of time. All devices will have similar experiences.

You just have to learn to live with it.. Things you can do to help lessen the heat issue on your S6:

Lessen the energy output your phone puts out by:

1. decrease the amount of color shown on the screen. You have an AMOLED screen, use it to your advantage.. meaning if you have black color on the screen, those black pixels will actually be off saving you battery life. install Null Black Wallpaper (no color black background instead of colorful wallpaper or a photo). the less energy outputted, the less heat outputted
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.rocboronat.android.wallpaper.npe&hl=en

2. any apps on screen: put them in folders (less color on screen the better), delete any blank desktop screens you don't need, remove any widgets on the desktop screen you don't use (all this uses up battery)

3. turn off any options you are not using: If you are playing a game and you don't have to be connected online turn off WiFi, GPS, bluetooth, multi window, screen rotation, NFC (any of these on but not in use, uses battery and causes heat)

4. in google play store>left side menu>settings: turn off Auto-update apps (if left on when you are playing games it could actively be updating another app(s) without your knowledge causing heat.. at your control you can update your apps at will whenever you want

5. if you don't use an Micro USB OTG cable to female USB, get one they are like less than $5 on ebay.. and get a USB flash drive.. any files, photos, documents, movies, songs you have stored on your phone, move them over to your USB storage stick. Keep the camera saving photos to the phone storage because it makes the camera act faster. when you finish taking photos, move them over to the USB stick. when you leave your device with open storage your intense games will have more freedom to use your device storage rather than having to search through the mess of files you have on it, and making it work less will also decrease heat buildup this will help the phone react better.. do this any time the phone starts acting up or at least once a year. Any updates that happen on your device.. after they update.. all those files still remain on the phone. partition wiping it will help clear those unneeded files out making the phone work less hard = less heat

8. turn off S-Voice will make your phone respond faster.. when S-Voice is open, Go to the 3 dots in upper right corner>select Settings>uncheck open via home key

9. turn off Google Cards.. Open Google app>Settings>disable show cards

10. Enable Samsung Power Saving mode when needed.. in settings enable "Restrict performance on" and when needed use Grayscale mode.. switching between what you need can save your battery life.. if you are gaming, i don't recommend turning on Grayscale because it limits your ability visually

11. If you didn't already, enable Developer Options:
Where is the Developer options in the Settings on the S6
change the following selections to 0.5%:
a. Window animation scale
b. Transition animation scale
c. Animator duration scale

12. use a good case with your device that doesn't restrict any of the holes.. the more away your body is to the back of the phone the less you will feel the heat.. and the less your body heat will react with the phone..

13. Remember that if you have too many text messages on your phone.. that can slow down your device and cause heat issues playing intense games.. every time your phone is running, all those text messages are in memory.. texts within the threads count toward the limit of 2,000 max on older phones.. i've seen newer phones with 10-30,000 text messages on them because they have more access to RAM to begin.. the more anything you have on your phone that's just taking up space will slow down your CPU causing heat, wasting battery, and slowing the device down. if you make backup copies of your text messages using Kies, remember that they are compressed and you won't have access to them unless you restore them to your phone.. a better way that i use is to create readable txt message PDF books that can be opened and archived (it's not free, but i find it well worth it):
Create Books From TXTs SMS Android Apps on Google Play

14. Log out of social media Facebook and messenger apps when not in use. If you don't have to be tethered to Facebook waiting for someone to message you.. log out at the minimum when you are playing your games. your battery will thank you.

My pioneer cd rw/dvd rw drive stoped working

what u might have to do is a system restore, which will restore the system to the date that u installed mortal kombat 4.

if u are using vista, just type system restore in the search bar, then back date the system to the date to the date u installed mortal kombat

if u are using XP, open "Run" on the start menu, type "msconfig" then click " launch system restore" on the general tab, than back date the system to the date u installed mortal kombat.

well.........i hope this works for you.

I'm unable to install Mortal kombat 4 in Windows XP SP 2. As soon as I activated setup, it exits with the error Msg "Start Menu Error". Please help

I've been trying to solve the same problem. Here's a solution I discovered that worked for the same problem in Vista; it may work also for XP.

To install and play Mortal Kombat 4 in Vista:

Click setup.exe.
Choose installation folder (create it later).
Get error message.
Do not click "Clean up."
CTRL-SHIFT-ESC and kill setup.exe process.

Create installation folder (selected during setup).
Copy all files in DATA folder on CD to installation folder.
Rename MK4.exe to Mortal Kombat 4.exe.

Install patch (optional).

FIGHT!
