Our washing machine just stops with all water inside. I can select the specific empty water program and it will empty the water, but the spin program does nothing anymore. What can be wrong?

I get no error code. Just a flashing light over the button to the furthest right. I have emptied the pump filter.

check the cold water supply, either from the mains pipe, there is no water getting into the machine, if water is there up to the machine check the solenoid for circuit, to do this unplug from electric, remove lid, and test the two wires on relevant solenoid, no circuit means faulty solenoid, (test with the 2 wires removed from solenoid) take care note position of wires to put back properly answer above based on info given

SOURCE: Zanussi ZWF1437W washing machine - wont start

The error message "Err" usually indicates that the wash program and option are not compatible. 40 degrees and 900 rpm Spin should be o.k.. I would try another wash program with no special options and see if the problem goes away.

SOURCE: Bosch classixx 1000 washing machine - stops on spin

Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x

HOTPOINT AQUARIUS FRONT LOADER WMF 560. Washing machine will do a full wash and it will spin and empty the water until it gets to the last spin put stops with a minute left and will not spin to finish

Hello. If the problem happens every time you wash and is not an intermittent phenomenon, my first guess is your main control board has gotten corrupted somehow(there is a small computer program stored on the board which tells the machine how to operate dependent on which wash options you choose). I had to check extensively for the parts diagram to your unit--there is only one board that controls EVERYTHING...you will need to get the actual model number from the barcode sticker when trying to get this board. It will be located near or on the door. I hope I helped you!

How do I fix washing machine to finish emptying during rinse and spin cycle?

Long shot, but does it fill the same as when new? I would check the atmospheric switch which is a hollow tube that runs down the inside of the drum(not in the wash cage) when the water fills, It pushes air up to stop the fill. It may have gotten clogged. Or partially clogged.

Moffatt washer is washing and draining but not spinning out the clothes

All content © 2000 © 2009 Washerhelp
> Home / Repairs DIY washing machine advice (part 8) Washing machine sticks or stops mid-cycle repairs-sm.gif A very common fault on washing machines is when the program timer fails to complete the cycle and stops part way through. Many people blame the program timer for this but although it is a possible cause, there are many more likely causes for this fault. The program will stick if the heater isn't working, if the thermostat fails, if it can't fill up with cold water for the rinses, if it can't empty the water etc. There are too many possible causes of this fault to be able to give anything other than rudimentary advice. However, the common causes of a washing machine sticking that can easily be fixed are filling and emptying problems.
Check that the cold water supply is available to the washing machine, which is a common cause for sticking on rinses. If the washing machine appears to stop mid-cycle and isn't filling with water on rinses then see Washing machine won't fill with water (or no water goes into washing machine) before calling an engineer. If the washing machine can't drain the water out then it will stick on the rinses, or it will abort with an error code. If you can see water still inside the washing machine then check the following advice Washing machine won't empty water

My frigidaire top loader fills with water at the beginning of the wash...then nothing. it just sits there full of water.

Hi, could be your timer motor, timer or water level switch, first push timer knob in and manually advance to wash or spin cycle (program) then pull knob, see if machine operates, let me know, then i can tell you exactly what's problem.also advance timer, to spin cycle (program) machine should pump out water, or you can lower drain hose into bucket and empty machine, you should empty machine and try again, let me know what happened, we can solved this together. good luck.

Machine stops mid-cycle

you need to check your carbon brushes need to be more than 8ml in length now what you also need to do is withthe washer empty fill it up with water on any cycle now put it on the empty cycle make sure it fully emptys the water b checking if the door opens after spin cycle finishes if it doesnt then your pump is either blocked or the fan in the centre of the inside of the pump is weak under pressure which means it needs replacing if none of these then it will be your timer that is faulty which if its a old type washer its not worth replacing the timer m8 sorry these are the only faults that it can be let me know what u find m8
