I have Panasonic th42 plasma.i m playing xbox360 for a year on hdmi port 1 .but 1 day when I turn on my TV than my Xbox the screen is showing black than change the port to 2 than port to 3 same problem not...

It sounds like you did some good testing by taking your xbox to a friend's home and trying it with his TV and HDMI input. You can try a reset on your Panasonic TV and see if that restores the HDMI input functions. Note this will erase your programmed TV channels so you'd need to re-enter those.

  1. Unplug the TV for at least 15 minutes
  2. Plug it back in and you'll be prompted to go through the initial setup just like when the TV was new.
If after that you still have no HDMI function on any of the inputs, that would indicate the set needs some service by a technician.

Good luck.

Xbox360 not hooking up to Curtis DVD5091 surround sound through optical cable

try running the optical cable from your dvd directly to your tv and then select whichever input (eg HDMI 1/2 etc) you use to play the xbox on..In theory this setup should allow any audio playing on the tv to go through the surround sound..hope it works

My xbox restarts when i change to tv

Check these things:1. Is your XBOX360 using HDMI and COMPONENT CABLES?2. If you do have COMPONENT CABLE plugged in then my best bet is you're trying to play XBOX360 with 1080p which COMPONENT CABLES do not support.3. You may need to get an adapter(NOT RECOMMENDED) or just unplug COMPONENT CABLE (RECOMMENDED)lol.
Note:XBOX360 will restart itself when you switch between the two or even if you turn off and on, your TV.
My advice is to use one or the other :)
Hope this helps

I just hooked up my Xbox with and HDMI cable, however my samsung tv does not read it, and I cannot select the HDMI function in source

Ok, I don't have an XBox360 so I can't get specific but if you can't select hdmi input on the TV then you are probably not getting a HDMI signal. I would check your XBox360 set up to be sure that it is set to output video on HDMI not composit, s-video, or component. You might have to return to the last working setup and monitor so that you can see the menu to make the change.

Hope that helps,

Hi, I've had my xbox 360 elite console for

might want to check the cable, if you are not getting light from the xbox360 most likely you have changed something on the TV. make sure its on the right setting

HDMI device has to be on first in some cases.

make sure the plug is good and well connected.
restart the xbox360 and try again.
try the xbox on another hdmi device to see if it working.
or try the regular mode of the xbox.

My xbox has color problems

Component, HDMI? May want to check cabling. Having the component cables plugged in incorrectly can create color problems.

HDMI Problem

ok i think you need to reset the video settings here is a step by step procedure which you can follow

To reset the display settings of the Xbox 360 console to the default settings, follow these steps:
  1. Remove any discs from the disc tray.
  2. Turn off the console.
  3. Turn on the console.

Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn on the console by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller. Wait for the guide light to indicate that the controller has linked to the console.

Note Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller is indicated by the upper-left quadrant light on the console.
  4. As the console starts, press and hold the Y button as you pull the right trigger.

Note This action causes the Xbox Dashboard to reset the display settings to the default settings. The console then automatically restarts.
