I used to work with pc's and when in doubt I rebooted. Cable boxes, routers and even these fancy machines. Turn it off, unplug it from the wall wait about 30 seconds and plug it back in. I'm not sure if this will do the trick but I had a repair guy here for my old Maytag neptune and he wasn't sure either so I unplugged it and it reset itself. He learned something new that day. Hope this helps. If not someone else will come along and reply as well with another method.
"1E" persists in washer display------ Lid lock failure----- Replace lid lock switch or control board.
This on a Maytag but sometimes you only have to reset the board, you just need to know the button combination and for that you need the brand and model number to find your manual, if you have it just find the sequence for resetting the board
