Best way is DO NOT use the spring.Use a common elastic at the bottom of the folding flap run around the flap to a short small screww you would drill into the plastic under the door. This lasts longer than the spring and when it gets tired, just replace with another elastic, lasts for years and works better.

How do I remove the front passenger door on a Citroen c5

Examine the hinges. They may be bolted from the outside at the door side. Another option is remove the 'drop pins' holding the two half's of the hinge together. Some hinge pins are only held in with a spring clip. Your only other option is to remove the front wing and unbolt the door with the hinges still on.
To remove the pins-
NOTE THIS IS A TWO PERSON JOB!!
Proceed as follows...
Support the weight of open the door.
Tap the spring clip sideways off the thin end of the pins,
(located top of the top hinge and bottom of the bottom hinge).
Tap the bottom pin upwards then the top hinge downwards.
You might need to wriggle the door to get them to move.
REFITTING
Put the bottom pin in first as it 'drops' in and the upper pin pushes up into position.
Again, you will have to wriggle the door and GENTLY tap the pins into place.
Swopping the the pins makes it easier to line up the new door as it closes.

How to remove door bushings

The only door bushings I am aware of are the ones on the hinge pins. Correct? If not, please clarify what you mean.
New pins come with new bushings, and the hinges are welded on so the pins are pretty much the only items replaceable. Not a fun job - because of the door stop springs you will need a spring compressor, and you will also need a special tool to drive out the old pins. However, both are available from a parts store or Amazon.
Just open the door and support it from the bottom, and then go for it, one pin at a time - for the upper pin, compress and remove the small spring, drive out the old pin, drive in the new pin and put the spring back. No spring on the bottom hinge - just replace the pin.

How to install spring on french door flapper/divider for Samsung RF266

On mine one end of the spring broke off in the hole on the door. It was on top of the hinge so it looked like a pivot pin. I found that this was the second hole for the spring. I pushed the end of the new spring up under the hinge and popped the broke piece of old spring out. Now I could see the 2 holes. You then need to put the spring into each hole. The hole on the flap also needs a white plastic sleeve if that is missing. that goes on the end of the spring and fits into the flap hole. Then the trick part is understanding how the spring works? If you put both ends of the spring in the holes and shut the flap, it now stays in position to close and be flipped open by the guide that swings it open to seal.

Good Luck.

Door springs on Fisher & Paykel 920 dishwasher not working at all .How can they be replaced?

Hi - heres the instructions for you - have fun.....

Removal of Cabinet

(Do not use decorative panel to move the machine)

1. Isolate power supply.

2. Remove service and decorative panels (refer Section 6.1).

3. Ease machine forward for all round access. Be careful not to damage floor coverings.

4. Remove two screws from bottom sides of cabinet rear.

5. Remove the top screws on left and right hand sides of the cabinet rear.

6. Remove two screws securing the rear bottom panel.

7. Remove five screws securing the stainless steel frame to cabinet wrapper at front of machine. These are located behind the sound gasket and service panel.

8. Withdraw the cabinet assembly away from the machine.

Refitting: Refit in reverse manner. Fitting the top centre screw in the cabinet wrapper first, makes fitting the cabinet easier.

6.9 Removal of Door Tension Springs

(Do not use decorative panel to move the machine)

Location: The door tension springs are located either side of the machine and are

fitted to the chassis base and door quadrants by means of the end hooks of

these springs.

After isolating the machine from the power supply:

1. Ease machine forward for all round access.

2. Remove service panel (Refer Section 6.1).

3. Remove two screws in the cabinet wrapper exposed by the Service Panel.

4. Remove the springs from the quadrants and the chassis base using pliers.

Refitting: Refit in reverse manner.

6.10 Removal of Hinge Assemblies

(Do not use decorative panel to move machine)

Location: The hinge assemblies are located either side of the door and retained by means of two rivets on each side to the inner door panel.

After isolating the machine from the power supply:

1. Remove service & decorative panels (refer Section 6.1).

2. Remove outer door panel (refer Section 6.2).

3. Remove cabinet (refer Section 6.7).

4. Remove door tension springs (refer Section 6.8).

5. Remove quadrant grommets.

6. Open door fully and drill out the two rivets from the hinge assembly on inner door panel.

7. Hinge assembly can now be removed from inner door and cabinet.

Note: Hinges should be replaced one at a time. Repeat procedure six and seven for other hinge. Hinge guide quadrants can now be removed by depressing sides and pulling free of slot if need be.

Refitting: Refit in reverse manner using 3/16 monal rivets to secure the hinges to the inner door.

Broke the hinge on my Samsung Alias 2. Need to repair it - have the parts! I had earlier broken my LCD and took the ****** apart, and put a new LCD in. Works fine, but not all of the original screws and...

The spring goes under the little plate that is held in by two tiny screws. Its visible when the phone is open vertically with the plastic cap removed from the hinge. Hope this helps. I took my hinge apart after I dropped it and the top half came off... now it's just holding by the ribbon so I'm going to order a new hinge. Verizon is completely useless. They don't want to even know about you if you're phone isn't under warranty and I have 11 months till an upgrade...

Thermador oven (c301u) door hinges weak, how to install new hinge

This is a relatively easy fix however you will need to remove the door and it is heavy!

Start by opening the door completely and engage the small "locks" that are at the base of the hinge. This will ensure that the spring loaded hinges do not "spring open" when you remove the door. You then will need to remove the hinges from the door via a series of phillips head screws that hold the hinge assembly in place. The new hinges must be "preloaded" into the Open position using a vise or some means of holding the hinge in place while you use a small section of pipe to provide leverage needed to open the hinge so that the Locks can be engaged.

Once the new hinges are "pre-loaded" and the locks are engaged, you can reverse the procedure to re-install the hinges into the door and re-install the door.

Good luck!!

The hinges are commercially avaialble from Applianceparts.com

New Cornu Fe Stove - Oven door pops open

I had the exact same issue with my Cornue Fe (only on the right hand side oven). The other symptom I noticed was that the door itself didn't close as smoothly as the left hand side oven.

Take a look at the alignment of the "post" sticking out from the oven relative to the spring loaded catch on the door. These need to be *very* well aligned vertically in order to keep the door closed as it heat cycles. You'll notice that the post has a depression at the end of it (furthest away from the door). The door catch has an upper and lower spring loaded roller that is supposed to "catch" on both sides of the depression. If you are misaligned vertically, then only one side of the catch will be applying sufficient force to the depression.

In my case, the post and the catch were misaligned by about 4-6mm. In fact, I noticed that repeated opening & closing of the door was actually causing some wear on the upper roller of the catch. To fix, I needed to raise the door, which was accomplished by adjusting the hinges.

I removed the door from the oven, which can be done by removing the screws on the hinges. The hinges consist of a bottom & top knob that slot into the door (similar to the way refrigerator hinges work). The hinges themselves are made of ~1/4" metal (could be stainless, but it's relatively soft stainless). I put the lower hinge in a vise (appropriate covering to prevent scratching) and *gently* bent it up to adjust the door upwards. Putting it back together required some help (the door is heavy), but after a bit of work it was all back. Thankfully the alignment was right the first time. This whole process took about 20 minutes.

In my case, I suspect that either the wife or kids had put too much weight on the door at some point and bent it out of alignment. The problematic door had about 4-6mm of "play" between the top and bottom hinges prior to my adjustment--the working door had zero "play". You might want to check to see if you have any such play before you do this work (you can either look at the hinge itself or simply lift up on the door at the hinge point to see if it moves). If you don't have this same play, but you do have misalignment, then you'll need to adjust both top and bottom hinges.

The other possiblity is that you might have a weak spring in the catch mechanism. You can check that by gently pushing a flat head screwdriver in between the two rollers and feeling for how much force is required to separate them.

Of course, you can also just call the La Cornue service folks and have them check it out.
