What usually breaks down in a switching power supply ?

Several possibilities here, first the motor in the revolving brush head has failed. Second, there is a power supply conduit built into the frame of the machine and when it is fully assembled sends power to the brush head motor. This could have a break in one or more places normally where they connect together. Finally, the switch is not sending power down the power conduit as it has become disconnected or damage. A combination of two or possibly all three scenarios could be the problem. I go for a break in the supply conduit...

If it won't turn on try Leaving off for awhile. At The wall.
If still the same then it's probably the switch mode Power Supply Module refusing to supply power to the Main Board.
Switch mode PS break down because of heat and Leake electrolytic Capacitors internally.

With AC power off.
Use a meter (on Ohms scale) to check internal fuse for blown (open) fuse.
If you feel qualified & safe with AC Power On.
Check input to internal power supply on AC Scale (Caution when AC is on) for volts in.
Use meter on internal Power Supply for "probably" DC volts leaving internal Power Supply electronics to power the rest of the electronic circuits.
Switch mode power supplies can break down. They stop doing their high frequency switching so they don't convert AC to DC.
If this P/Sup is a separate box or circuit board, inside the unit, then it can have a part number & be replaced.

The first thing you should learn about three way switches is how they work. Once you know how they work they are so much easier to wire.

First:
All neutrals (usually white) are tied together, which means the light bulb always has a way to return the current to the source (a complete circuit).

Second:
The hot (usually black and red) is what is opened or closed by the three way switches.



The main mistake when wiring a 3 way switch is not to tie the common to the power source on switch one and not to tie the lamp black wire to the common on switch two.

Notice that in the position above the lamp will be off. If you move the toggle down on the first switch then the power will be connected all the way through the the black wires to the lamp. If you move the toggle up on the second switch then the power will be connected to the lamp via the red wire. Either switch can then make or break the connection that allows the power to flow through to the lamp.

There are also variations of this configuration when the power is supplied to the lamp first. or if the power is supplied to switch two, but the principle is the same. In both of the later cases you must use the white wire to carry power or the hot leg and is not the preferred method, but is approved by the NEC. Typically, when this is done it is common to place a black piece of tape on the white wire to make you aware that the white wire might be hot. OK First not to insult you but you have made sure you have power to the plug you are plugging into.I have seen this before.You need to unplug your computer from the wall for (to be on the safe side)an hour or so.If the computer turns on now it is a problem with your power supply.You may run the computer this but you need to replace the power supply when you can.The capacitors are breaking down (usually most of the time the problem) and unplugging them lets them cool down enough to operate.(ie--even if you turn off the computer the usb power does not).Hopes this helps.

Did you check the brake pedal switch? Usually it is under the steering column were your brake pedal arm resting on it! Stepping on brake pedal makes the switch supply power to brake lights, check if its still working or wires been cut off or the connector got disconnected!

1) Bad Power Supply. Power Supply has a weak voltage power rail.

Await your further diagnoses.

If this machine is a few years old the most common problem is a failing power supply. The power supply starts to over heat and the internal switching breaks down causing it to not supply the correct voltages where neede (usually to the ram).
Power supply's are ver easy to test with the correct tool, if you have a PC repair shop near you ask them for a quote to test your supply and to fit a new one should yours prove to be faulty.

Wish I could be more of a help to your problem. I have found that, in the power supply area, sometimes a scr or switching transistor is heating up, or a cap feeding that section is breaking down. As for the blinking lights, that indicates the problem area by knowing the proper code sequence. You do need a service manuel to find those codes. ( One can be obtained on line for a cost by using your google search ( service manuels).
