LED TV Wont Turn on, just shows red indicator light
The TV has had problems turning on... When plugged in, indicator light shows red. when pressing the power button, tv doesn't come on. Would have to unplug from power, wait a few minutes, and re-plug tv back in and try power button.. Normally this would work and indicator would turn blue. If tv doesn't show Sceptre Logo screen after 5 seconds, tv doesn't turn on. if it does great.
Now tv isn't turning on 95% of the time. and if indicator does show blue, 10% chance tv turns on.
any suggestions?
Re: LED TV Wont Turn on, just shows red indicator light
What if you have the Same issue but replacing the Power Board did not fix the issue? It just shows the red light. Once the Power button is hit then the red light disappears and never comes back untill you replug into an outlet, and the TV still wont come on?

It indicates that the TV is not receiving enough power to operate normally.
The power cord or outlet might be faulty or loose. Try plugging the TV into a different outlet or using a different power cord. Make sure the cord is firmly connected to the TV and the outlet.
The TV might have a blown fuse or capacitor. This would require opening the TV and replacing the damaged component. This is a risky and complicated procedure that should only be done by a qualified technician. Do not attempt to do this yourself unless you have the necessary skills and tools.
The TV might have a software glitch. Try resetting the TV to its factory settings by following these steps:
Turn off the TV and unplug it from the power source.
Press and hold the power button on the TV for 10 seconds.
Plug the TV back in and turn it on.
If the TV shows a menu, select the option to restore factory settings. If the TV does not show a menu, repeat steps 1-3 until it does.
Try a reset. Start by unplugging for 1 minute, then plug back in & if still won't restart try the following. If none of the following work, you will need a technician.

Re: Bravia KDL46EX720. Red LED blinks 4 times and TV wont turn on. What is the problem?
Do a Power Reset.
1. Turn off the TV.
2. Unplug the power cord of the TV from the electrical outlet.
3. Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. (If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.)
5. Turn on the TV.
If the issue still persists after performing power reset, that may be an indication that the TV needs service. You may refer to this linkto locate the nearest Sony authorized service center in your area.

I had the same problem. all the service reset would only make the display come on for a few second with no "k" on the screen - only the channel would show up. I purchased a complete set of board for the lcd on ebay, and started swapping them one by one. The inverter boards were the culpret. Tele working 100% since that board swap.
