Most likely the lid switch is the problem, have a look at this and replace it if needed. If not the switch, let me know and I would be glad to let you know what else it may be.

good luck

SOURCE: Kenmore 44072 Front Load Washer Drain Hose Cleaning

Try this link for step-by-step instructions. More than likely you will have to clean the drain pump as well.

If you are having trouble draining the water from the wash tub, and cannot get it to drain with a shop vac, you can drain it directly from the tub. If you don't own a shop vac, you may have to bail. If your drain pump does not have a clean out trap, remove the inlet and outlet hoses to access the inside of the drain pump. Inspect the pump impeller for obstructions and/or damage. If the water will not drain when you try to pull a vacuum on the drain line, you may have to disconnect the drain hose from the bottom of the wash tub. In some front loaders, there is a ball valve in the drain hose from the bottom of the wash tub to the drain pump. This ball can act as a collection pint from lint and debris. You will need to remove the hoses from the bottom of the wash tub to clean this area. I would recommend doing this as a LAST resort. Often, it can be difficult to reconnect this hose to the tub and get it to seal correctly. I hope this helps you. Please post back if you need further assistance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question@@@@

Whirlpool front loader duet hd washer gets stuck in the wash cycle with the error code of F02. What is F02 mean?

Whirlpool Duet front-load washer F02 usually means it is taking over 8 minutes for the washer to sense that the rinse or wash water has drained, which either means that the drain/filter is clogged or the pressure switch/tube is clogged (causing both the washer to over-fill with water and not sensing that water has drained).

To clear out the drain/filter, tilt the washer backwards a little for easier to the kick-plate and support the front bottom with a wood block or similar, remove the front kick-plate's (3) retaining screws and swing the kick-plate up out of the way. The filter drain is behind the white knob in the center, be prepared with something to catch any remaining water and lots of towels to soak up any spills, and turn the knob counter-clockwise to remove the filter.

HE3 no error codes, will not start when button is pushed. All mode lights are on push any wash cycle and no go. Checked water lines, drain line, no obstructions. When you push the wash cycle button it...

Disconnect power to the washer and open the door. Remove the door gasket retaining hoop by stretching apart the retaining spring at the bottom of the door opening. Gently peel the part of the door gasket near the door lock/latch assembly off the lip of the right side of the door opening. Remove enough of the door gasket to access the door lock/latch assembly behind the front panel.

Remove the three screws securing the door lock/latch assembly to the front panel and slightly lift it then pull it back off the front panel. Pull the door lock/latch assembly out of the washer and disconnect the wiring harnesses.

Connect the wiring harness to the new door lock/latch assembly and install it back in place behind the front panel. the door lock/latch assembly and put the eased part of the door gasket back into position over the lip of the door opening.

Check that the door gasket is properly seated before putting back and securing the retaining hoop around the lip of the door opening and the door gasket.

My Samsung WF218ANW/XAA front load washer will not drain & the display reads "nd". I have already drained the water through the front panel tube & have cleaned that filter, washer still...

lefever352, I am currently trying to solve this same issue on the identical model. I removed , cleaned, and re-assembled all the water tubes and the entire pump assembly. The pump works but for some reason it is not priming into the drain tube. The pump assembly appears to have a diaphram over the outlet opening and it it looks like this might be the problem. I am still hunting the solution, BUT so far the above actions have to resolve our issue. I hope perhaps Fixya can help.

I keep getting a failure with a code 2 before my front load loader whirlpool washer cycle is complete. The washer is about 7 years old.

f 02 is a drain issue
check the drain hose make sure not plugged or kinked
check electrical connection at drain pump itself
on this unit there is a cleanout at bottom behind kick plate remove the 2 or 3 screws from bottom and you will see a a plastic clean out have a few towels ready or a wet vac works great...make sure you unplug unit during this as electricity and water do not mix well...
pull cover on clean out and check for any foreign material and while in there check pump impeller for coins also move hoses sometimes objects in hoses right before pump ....if all this does not correct you have a bad pump assembly most likely...
good luck and please vote...

Not draining. cleaned hoses. where is this filter i keep reading about

You need to get into the where the pump assembly is, if there is a kick plate you need to take off, if not you need to get in through the back of the unit
