Re: LAPTOP, HP, PRESS POWER BUTTON, IT STARTS IT BOOT...
It could be any of the two. problem with your power supply section and mainboard. the reason it shut down repeatedly, is the unstable supply of dc voltage on your laptop. try using another charger/adaptor.if the mainboard is the culprit. you have a serious problem. visit your local service center.
I've got a boot disc in the cd drive, but the video doesn't have a chance to come up... I press the power button, the boot starts and almost exactly 26 or 27 seconds into it.. the powere button and other lights on the laptop blink once and i can hear the boot process start over again,... so the cd doesn't spin long enough to even load anything into ram..
This sounds strange... but I just rubbed the keyboard rather vigoursly as the boot process was happening and it actually didn't restart after the 27 seconds.. it went farther and then the cd just stopped spinning... still no video, no control that i can see... the caps locka nd num lock do nothing... but the power lights stay on... ????
Thank you. I will bring it in today and see what they think it is...
Do you ever see the windows xp logo screen? or does it hang on the HP screen?
