SOURCE: 3 beeps and fan running at start up

The three beeps shows the Memory Module Test and that symbolise that the memory module is having a problem and to my knowledge when there is a problem with the memory then you have to open the casing and remove the memory module and clean the slot very well and if slot in back and the memory do the same change the to the second memory slot if it happens there again then you change the Memory module.

SOURCE: Compaq Evo D510 Space Saver PC Desktop network drivers

We had the same problem and tried all of the drivers & even the expired link here, but then went back and discovered the PRO 100 drivers contained in the HP Intel PRO/1000 GT drivers download
file sp33671.exe (64 MB), 9.4.21.0 A (4 Sep 2006). Choose to extract to a non-temporary folder, it will produce C:\swsetup\SP33671\PRO100\Win32\ by default and that is where we found the driver. Hope it helps!

Three beeps at POST (startup) may be caused by an issue with your video card. Check to make sure the video card is seated correctly. If you have another video card, you can try it to determine if the current video card is faulty.

I tried to move my hard disk and cd/rom drive to a dell tower but did not work and now when i put them back in my compaq evo i am only getting 3 beeping sounds when i boot up then it turns its self off ...

Hearing more than ONE beep is "bad" news.

Check that the wires from the fan on top of the CPU are connected to the power-supply pins on the motherboard, so that the fan spins when power is supplied.

Check that the RAM is correctly seated in its slots.

Check that the video-card is correctly seated in its slot.

Disconnect the power-connectors from the disk-drive and from the CD-ROM drive, and then start your computer. If it still beeps, without these devices attached, then these devices are *NOT* the source of the problem.

If all else fails, take the computer to a qualified technician.

My Compaq EVO d510 SFF won't boot, it does only about 5% of the time and when it does nothing appears on the screen, no sounds, the fan and everthing runs, the screen works and all cables work so any help?

1. does it at least turn on? do you see lights?? if you don't chances are you may need to replace the power supply.
2. if it does turn on.. do you hear any beeps.. could you describe how many beeps, how long are each one of them, if you get beeps, it's the motherboard usually letting you know about a hardware problem.

3. if it does turn on and no picture, (not even the very first picture with a motherboard/video brand/computer manufacturer) you may have a video card problem. I suggest you start replacing that item first.

hope it gives you an idea on where to start looking
good luck!

Compaq evo will not boot up

try to go to BIOS
if the pc is not allowing you to go BIOS then get a bootable cd & insert the same & boot the pc to the desktop & also open the chasis & reseat the memory sticks.
