The error code 1F on an LG refrigerator indicates a problem with the ice maker fan. The most common cause of this error code is frost or ice buildup around the fan. If you have disconnected the water line to the ice maker, then the most likely cause of the error code is frost or ice buildup.
To fix the error code 1F, you will need to defrost the ice maker fan. This can be done by following these steps:
Unplug the refrigerator or turn off the circuit breaker that powers the refrigerator.
Remove all food and drawers from the freezer compartment.
Open the freezer door and allow the ice to melt.
Once the ice has melted, use a hair dryer or heat gun to melt any remaining frost or ice around the ice maker fan.
Wipe away any moisture with a clean cloth.
Reassemble the freezer compartment and plug in the refrigerator or turn on the circuit breaker.
If the error code 1F persists after defrosting the ice maker fan, then there may be a problem with the ice maker fan motor or the control board. In this case, it is best to contact a qualified technician for assistance.
Here are some tips to prevent the error code 1F from coming back:
Keep the freezer door closed as much as possible to minimize air circulation.
Defrost the refrigerator regularly, even if the ice maker is not in use.
Clean the ice maker coils regularly to prevent frost buildup.
If you live in an area with hard water, consider using a water softener to reduce the amount of minerals in the water that can contribute to frost buildup.
By following these tips, you can help to prevent the error code 1F from coming back and keep your refrigerator ice maker working properly.
A F1 or 1F error code on the refrigerator's display indicates a problem with ice blower fan or ice maker motor.
search LG error 1f and u will find lots of info
IF error code. This typically refers to a problem with the ice maker fan. It is recommended to unplug the unit and allow the ice maker compartment to defrost, thaw, and melt any ice buildup. Dry up the excess moisture before plugging the unit in again. This should resolve the matter. If not, post back to me.

My 2 year old LG LFX23961ST refrigerator started showing error code Er IF. In searching help here, I found out it meant the problem was with the Ice maker Fan. When I checked the ports where the cold air blows into the Ice maker compartment, there was no cold air coming out (you have to hold the door switch in to turn on the fan). I removed the ice maker module (two screws) and unplugged it. When I closed the door, the fan started running, but was making a rattling noise. I suspected ice build up. Emptying out the freezer compartment, I pulled the rear cover of the compartment off and found what I had suspected. Cleaned out the ice, put everything back together and Voila! Everything working again. As I write this, I can hear ice dropping into the ice holding tray. Not sure yet why the whole ice blockage thing happened though. Will keep an eye on it. It's been several hours since the repair and no issues. All seems well. It's not rocket science. If you can use a screwdriver, you can fix it too.
This is an error code for the icemaker fan motor. If the control does not see a signal coming back from the fan motor you will get this error code. Please see the image below from the service manual that explains the ER IF error code.
