Try using a different Tv.

"First beep it turns on second beep nothing and third beep turns off.will not reset."

Your friends are wrong, pressing the button at the front of the console only turns the console on and off. If the problem doesnt change then contact the sony customer helpline.

Computer goes on but does not boot

When you start up the PC, do you get any kind of beep sound? If not, I would reckon the RAM modules are faulty and would need to be replaced first. That is the usual cause for this kind of issue. Also when replacing the modules, make sure they are the type supported by your motherboard, ie DDR, DDR2, etc. You will have to consult your m/b manual for this..

If the problem is not with the RAM, ie you hear a beep, but nothing else, I would guess that the MBR of your operating system is dysfunctional, which would mean that you would have to reinstall the operating system.

Hope that helps...

Cheers!
