Maytag cwe4800acb oven shuts off and display goes blank during heating

When I turn on my oven to any temperature, it starts to heat up then it cuts off and the display goes blank. the oven light stays on. I believe it's the the control unit (timer display) but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

SOURCE: burned out element

When the element burned in 2 iot may have tripped your circuit breaker.
Check your breaker box and look for a 40 or 50 amp breaker and flip it off and then back to on. If this doesn't help then a tech. may need to be called for service.

SOURCE: My Maytag oven works when

The number one problem for these ovens is the ignitor. This one is your ignitor according to your model number When it is weak it is intermittent. Sometimes you can get the oven to work if you give it a swift kick. This video explains how it works:
The next likely suspect is your oven sensor. That is the link to your oven sensror according to the model number you posted. Here is a video which shows how to check it:

HI,
First of all, thank you for all your information. A rule I live by, even if an ignitor glows does not mean it works. The ignitor works on the flow of electricity through it not how bright it glows. If you can use a amperage meter, hook on one of the two wire to the ignitor directly. You need 3.2 to 3.6 amps to open the safety valve. If lower than 2.6 amps, it will not allow gas to enter the burner. If you have no clue what I am asking you to do, you can purchase and replace the ignitor and life will be better. P# 12400035. Its not difficult to change, the screws holding the ignitor in place sometimes strip out, when you get them off, you can replace them if needed.
Good Luck

You either have a bad control board or the touch pad has a button sticking and it needs the touch pad. The temperature sensor would not be a problem for this concern. I hope this helps.

It could possibly be you are not getting 240 volts to the range. The top igniter may be getting a current back through the other side of the 240 circuit and that is why it works when the oven is turned on but the oven will not be getting power to heat. Have the 240 circuit checked or make sure the circuit breakers are reset correctly.

My oven turns off on me after only a minute never heating up fully

Could be caused by either of following;

1. Faulty thermostat.
2. Faulty thermal cut out switch. (controls power to cooling fan).
3. Faulty cooling fan (not fan inside oven).

Test thermostat by setting thermostat to low temperature like 60 oC. If oven gets much hotter then its a faulty thermostat.
To test cooling fan and thermal switch take oven out and remove top or rear panels to expose components.
When oven gets hot the cooling fan should turn on. If it doesn't then check to see if there is a mains voltage present.
If mains current exist but fan is not turning then replace fan. If mains voltage is not present then its the thermal switch.
