SOURCE: fridge is leaking from freezer to top shelf

This is the drain tube that runs in the back of the freezer on the bottom is pluged. Take a sprayer with some hot water in it and flush out the system. Remove the food so that you dont get any of the stuff on it.

SOURCE: Freezer compartment leaking water and icing up inside

I just fixed this problem with my Admiral. I noticed the problem when I found ice in the bottom of the freezer and water leaking out onto the floor. Here is what I did: remove all of the food from the freezer into large coolers. Pull-out the shelves, the icemaker bin, and thaw the basket with a hairdryer until you can pull it out. There are about 12 phillips head screws that hold a plastic baffle covering the freezer coils. Remove all of the screws and loosen but do not remove the icedispenser motor and freezer light (you can pry it up to get to the top screw of the baffle). Pull the top part of the baffle away from the back of the freezer and then slide the baffle up to reveal the defrost drip tray and drain. Use a hair dryer and screw driver to remove the iceblock from the drip try and to thaw any other ice in the bottom of the freezer. Also thaw the top of the drain. Now pull the freezer out from the wall and under the drain area in the back you will find the drain tube attached with a "Oh-Jesus" clamp - at least that is what we call them here in Indiana. Pinch the clamp with pliers and pull the drain tube down. Use a stretched out wire hanger to snake out the tube (I had lots of calcium deposit and a dust ball clogging the tube) and then replace. Test the system with a cup of water to make sure the drain works (should see water end up in the pan under the right front bottom drip tray). Replace baffle, icemaker motor/light, bin, shelves, food, done.

Frigidaire galaxy

Thank you for your post, friend!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire refrigerator is leaking water inside the fresh food compartment. If you could provide me your model number I would be able to provide more information. You can normally locate your serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside cabinet of the fresh food compartment normally on the left side of a top mount. On a side by side it can be found on the right hand side. I look forward to your response. -Matt

Your fan has stopped working. You need to either replace it or see if your defrost timer is working.

Water inside refrigerator

Because your model has an evaporator located inside the fresh food compartment it also will have a drain opening below that evaporator. This is a common problem with these dual evaporator models that have drain blockage caused by ice or gunk blocking the drain and causing water to flow below the crisper drawers. Sea Breeze

Kenmore Refridgerator leaking water into refridgerator compartment from freezer compartment

You most likely have a clogged drain. When you freezers goes into defrost every 8 to 10 hours. The frost that is melted during the defrost drains from the freezer either down through the fridge or out the back and down. Either way it drains into a pan under the fridge. This tube is either clogged or the drain it's self inside the freezer is. Most of the time I find peas stopping the water from draining from the freezer. When the water can't drain it leaks through the bottom of the freezer into the fresh food section of the fridge. You will need to fix this because it will cause other problems. The water that cant drain from the freezer refreezes and will end up destroying the foam in the bottom of the freezer. Water will also leak onto the controls located in the part between the freezer and fresh food section ruining you controls.

Freezer leaks water even after water supply turned off

Remove the food from the lower portion of the freezer and remove the 2 screws which hold the rear freezer panel on . Remove the panel and use a hair dryer to defrost the ice built up over the drain . Once you see the black drain hole , concentrate on defrosting the hole . Once defrosted , the ice water will drain into the hole . I would use a small hose inserted into the drain and blow thru , to remove any debris built up inside the drain . Reinstall the panel and food .

Refridge leaking water inside it...

The condensate drain begins inside the freezer compartment behind the back panel and at the bottom of the evaporator coils. Every time the refrigerator defrost (about 3 times a day) the water needs to flow out the bottom of that pan in the freezer and into a plastic drain pipe to the bottom of the refrigerator into a pan on top of the compressor or side of compressor. Sometimes the drain is blocked inside freezer and there is a buildup of ice. But sometimes it is blocked near the opening that leads out of the fresh food compartment and then down to compressor tray/pan. If the blockage is near that exit then you will see a trail of water running down the back of the fresh food compartment and settle in bottom. The only solution is to slowly and carefully remove the drain pipe from the back and inside of refrigerator and clean it out. Let me know how you are doing on this and I will be here to help,Thanks Sea Breeze
