"Goes off" as in shuts off or provides an audible / visual radar alert?

Are you connected to the cigar lighter / battery; or a wire you believe to be 13.8VDC? Check the voltage of the wire you are using to power the 8500 with a VOLTMETER. You may be connecting the data bus wire in the vehicle instead of a 13.8VDC source. Move the wire to a 13.8VDC source.

Seems like an accelerator pump is worn out in the carb.To check it take off air cleaner and pump the throttle body by hand and see if it squirts in the top of the carb with engine off.Or bad fuel filter.

My daughter has a 95 Ford Escort Wagon. The temperature gauge either does not work at all or it bounces back and forth with acceleration or deceleration. The gauge goes up when you accelerate and it goes...

connector may be loose at the temperature sensor. connector should be snug on the sensor. If necessary, bend the terminals carefully to make firm contact. If this does not solve the problem, you may want to replace the sensor. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Heat only comes out hot when accelerating, this van has a 3.3 liter engine. I also have this same problem on my 1994 Dodge Dakota pickup truck with a magnum v-6 engine... whats going on ???

check the coolant level in both vehicles, low coolant is the primary cause of this problem, check at the radiator not in the expansion tank, might be air bound, check and get back to me. Please rate my fix as i strive to be the best. Thanks Ray
