Channel numbers missing

local channels are usually below a channel 1000. they are always on same assigned channel. If your cable box or tv has it, it has option to not display channels with no service on them. you can't reassign the channel numbers. they are channels but not being displayed.

Missing cable channels

You need to contact your cable service provider about this, it is a signal issue not a TV issue.

Froze

To see if the problem is with your remote control, go to the receiver and use the channel up/down buttons on the receiver itself. If you can change your channels with the buttons on the receiver, the batteries in your remote control probably need to be changed.

If you can't change channels from the receiver, turn off the receiver. Then unplug it for at least 15 seconds. Plug the receiver back it and turn it on. Again, try changing channels from the receiver itself.

Tune to a channel, and while programming is playing, try tuning to the missing channel by entering the channel number on the remote control keypad to see if channels change. Do not try to select the channel from a channel list, program guide, or favorites list.

If this approach takes you to the correct channel, you need to adjust your favorites list function. Press the "guide" button on your remote. Look for a button on your remote called "fav" or "list." Press it several times and watch for an indication at the top of the guide that you are moving from "all channels" to a particular favorites list.

If you are locked on one channel only, your Channel Lock feature is likely active. Consult your owner's manual to unlock the rest of your channels. See your owner's manual for information on managing favorite channel lists and locking out channels. Enter your password, if necessary.

Toshiba 42 lcd cannot delete channels I use the manual channel set and select Not Viewable for channels I don't want to see. Then as I click through the channels, the deleted channels show up again.

Also have a 42" Toshiba and had the same problem, then had issues moving the channel order while some channels were set to skip.

What I ended up doing was retuning the tv. Then went through the channel list (Menu -> Setup -> DTV Setting -> Channels) and changed the number of the channels I didn't want to 1000+ (using the red button, ie 1001, 1002, 1003...). This in itself does not change the channel order, but when I then move these channels to the end of the channel list and because they are numbered numerically I can be sure I don't miss any.

Next I went to the channel options (Menu -> Setup -> DTV Setting -> Channel Options) and marked all the channels I'd moved to the end of the list as channels to skip and locked. This does not remove the channels from the EPG but it does move them to the end of the list and when scrolling with the channel +/- buttons these channels will not be selected.

Ideally I would also like to delete channels such as QVC etc altogether and would love to know if anyone has a more effective solution to this issue.

I just purchased the RCA model L32HD31R. Everything works fine except that I can't remove the analog channels from the list. I get my signal OTA so no cable or sat issues. I go into the List Menu and they...

I had the same problem and finally sloved it. You have to leave the input channels ( Vid1, Vid2, SVid, Cmpt, HDMI, etc ) in the In Channel List. So push the INPUT button, go to VID1, press Menu, go down to List & Labels then check In Channel list. Do this for all the inputs and then run your Channel search again. I hope this works for you. It did for me.

Favourite setting lost when switched off

I think it is actually Channel 7 causing the problem. I have the same TV and have noticed that Ch7 only drops off the Favourites list when 7 telecasts a program in Standard Definition (SD) on the High Definition (HD) channel 70. They usually seem to do this when broadcasting sporting events. You can check if they're broadcasting in SD on the HD channel 70 by pressing the "INFO" key (also labelled "<<", just above the "TEXT" key). The channel description will read "70 7 SD Digital" instead of "70 7 HD Digital". (You will also see this when you change to channel 70 during these times.) Every time they've done this, I've lost the 7 HD channel from my favourites list. If you re-program channel 70 into your favourites list while it's broadcasting in SD, it will disappear from the favourites list when 7 starts broadcasting a HD signal again. I think I read somewhere that this happens because channel 7 isn't really transmitting a SD-resolution (576i) program on the HD channel, but instead just redirecting your TV to the SD channel's signal (Ch 7 on the tuner) - or something like that! I haven't yet found a way to stop this from happening other than to not change to HD channel 70 when they're telecasting a SD program! I have to admit, it's annoying, but it's a minor glitch in what I believe is an otherwise outstanding TV. I intend to email Network 7 about this problem. Maybe if the problem is their fault and enough people hassle them about it, they might do something to fix it! - Mav (Australia)
