Question about Sharp FO 4450 Laser Fax
I am getting black lines accross the entire page on a received fax. I have about 12,000 copies on the existing drum. If I look at the drum there appears to be the black lines embedded on the drum. Is it time to change the drum? I did not get a warning from the fax itself stating the life of the drum is nearing the end.
If you see black lines on the drum, it is very likely that the drum unit is bad. Replace the drum unit and rest the drum counter. If you wait too long, you will cause toner build up in the fuser and will cost yourself several hundred dollars to get it replaced. More in labor than parts.
Use a soft cotton or very soft paper towel and wipe the excess toner from the drun. If there are lines worn in the surface of the drum, then replace it ASAP.
