Check for a pinched line between filter and icemaker first, then purge some water through the ice maker to make sure it flushes anything in the line out, and discard the water and the first couple pounds of cubes. If it remains red, replace the filter as it may be obstructed.
If the tank is full of water (pick it up) with 8 lbs of air then the air charge is low and little or no water will come out. Take should have 7psi air pressure when it is completely empty. Make sure all the water valves are on. If feeding RO with piercing valve make sure it is open all the way and has plenty of water pressure feeding RO. If there is no water being created then there will be no water at faucet, fridge or ice maker, assuming they are all tied into the RO. RJ
KitchenAid KSGR25FTSSOO side by side one day just quit making ice. We have blown out the lines and replaced the filter. The red light does blick when we open the door. The water despenser as a flow of water that is real slow. How and what do we do next?
Pour about 1/2 cup of water into ice maker . If it dumps , replace the water valve . If doesn't dump , replace the ice maker. Also make sure the coils are clean of dust , lint , etc...
Could be something foreign in the water line on the fridge side...or somewhere in the ice maker/ water dispenser inside the fridge......when it tastes stale....maybe there is something maybe mold or something that is part of the plastic ????
I usually add an in-line filter to my water line before it reaches the fridge so that 99% of the elements are trapped before it gets to the fridge. My original filter is still good. Maybe someone needs to inspect the ice maker with a a bright light and an inspection mirror to see if there is any thing that looks suspicious....this is only a suggestion but leaving the line disconnected for so long could even cause something like a small insect to crawl inside the line...
So your not getting water from the dispenser either??? Yes the water filter can be the source of your problem. Let me know if the water is coming from the dispenser.
